I have lived here at 1901 West for a while now. I am a bit surprised at some of these reviews. I highly disagree that they are poorly constructed. In fact, I think they are the best quality apartments I have ever lived in. I have lived in some old apartments, which have paper thin walls, and these apartments do not. I will agree they are not silent or noise proof, but no apartment really is. I am saving to buy a house, so I don t have to worry about noise any longer. Until then, I have had much much worse.

I will one hundred percent agree that the washer/dryers are horrible. I asked if I could install my own, but they would not permit it. The gates are also a bit of a problem; although, they explained how it works, and it seems to be a combination of a poor system vs. inconsiderate neighbors. I do it they way they explained, and the gate comes down the majority of the time. I would like to know how someone ran into the gate because it s not that hard to see.

It is not the best neighborhood, but like much of this area, it is spotty when it comes to crime. I do like the fact that it is just a hop from downtown, which has a lot to do. I love historic Annapolis nightlife and great restaurants. I rarely use the other appliances in my apartment.

As for the office staff, they fired the last manager. He was a bit flakey. I don t know the new one. Amy is really sweet. Kathy is a bit shy upstairs. She is also, from what I hear, prone to mood swings, so I would avoid her if at all possible. I have not really spoken with the other blonde, but she seems sweet as well.

I would also like to address lease breakage. As I stated, I have had horrible noise problems at an older complex, and I have ASKED to get out of my lease. Dominion did not allow me at all without paying back the ENTIRE lease. I asked the policy when I moved in and READ my lease. You do not have to sign a lease you do not agree with. If you sign a lease you have not read, then you, my friend, are a moron. Bozzuto has a pretty steep breakage fee, but I was aware of that up front because I read my lease.

I like this place. I have met some good people and some shady ones. They do criminal background checks on all tenants, so that makes me feel ok. Like any place you live, it is a crap shoot when it comes to your neighbors.

There have been a lot of car breakins lately, and they refuse to fix the gates which are part of what the high rent pays for. Instead they spent the money on bush league speed bumps. The apartments themselves are great but the people at the front desk and Buzzuto never call you back or answer any questions that involves something negative in their community.

Come on, the comment about Kathy are uncalled for. She is very nice and a pleasure to speak to. If you take the time to talk to her you will come to that conclusion on your own.
