The Worst Renting Experience I've Ever Had

It's WONDERFUL that our lease just ended, my stress levels have gone down immensely.

I didn't realize how much the nastiness of this apartment complex had caused me stress and almost depression.

Only a few of the reasons I hate this place:
1.

The latest news is that we didn't get the full amount of security deposit back even though our apartment looked quite immaculate when we left it.

The reason was said to be that the filling between the tiles had changed color a little bit.

The person I did the move out inspection with said that it hardly ever happens that the security deposit gets fully refunded and if he doesn't put down at least 50 dollars, then Kelly Albritton herself comes up and examines everything REALLY closely and if things don't look absolutely perfect (and it never does), she will charge money to the fullest.

What the hell'! I mean, how cheap can a corporation get and what kind of reviews and reputation they hope to have if they deliver this not-so-subtle f/u to all the residents whose lease ends'
2.

The staff is inconsiderate, arrogant and rude (Gabbie Gunson being the only exception here), especially Kelly Albritton who often acts downright nasty.

Around 6 PM one night our fire alarm started constantly bleeping and that was REALLY loud.

It kept our family up all night.

Next morning I asked for maintenance ASAP because this constant, loud bleeping made the apartment unlivable.

It would have taken them exactly 5 minutes to fix it but they didn't come until next evening, so this bleeping kept us up another night.

24-hour maintenance guarantee says that if a service request doesn't get taken care of within 24 hours, the day's rent is free.

This is exactly what I asked for as this had been more than 24 hours and very annoying.

All I got was a nasty letter from Kelly Albritton stating that we are ABUSING their policy, and that 24 hours shouldn't be taken literally.

Again, what the hell!'
3.

Constantly broken gates/bad security system.

In addition, if a gate is broken and you're not able to get in the garage and park in other spots within the premises just so that you'd get home, your car will get towed.

If you go to Starbucks on the way home and park near it, your car will get towed.

They have picked the most aggressive towing policy there is.

Another spit in the face of the people who rent from them.
4.

Packages often get delivered weeks later because of their random mess-ups.

5.

The trash room got cleaned about once during the year I lived there, the same is true for the floors of the common area as far as I know.

Veeery dirty and nasty.
6.

We wanted to reserve the theatre exactly once during the time that we were there, but then it turned out that in the middle of the lease the rules had changed and that they were charging a LOT of money for it in addition to the 300 dollars everybody paid for this to begin with.

Don't be fooled by the nice lobby and amenities and their hospitality before you have signed the lease.

They will treat you like absolute crap once they've gotten you to sign.

I SO regret that we didn't end the lease early.

Congratulations on not renewing your lease. I hope your new home is much better. If you have a copy of the notice stating the charges for amenties, take it and a copy of your lease to the BBB. When I was there, people parked cars (and boat trailers) illegally and nothing was done. It seems they have gone to the other extreme. I don't think they even have a sign with the towing company's contact information if your vehicle is taken away. I remember the smoke detector beeps and the only solution they offered were "new" 9-volt batteries. I just unplugged them and used my own battery powered ones. I kinda miss the pool since that was where everyone gathered and shared their complaints.
