Situated within minutes of downtown Annapolis, Annapolis Roads Apartments is composed of older 1970's vintage buildings. Although the variously sized units (1-3 bedrooms) are moderately up-to-date, with regular maintenance and common appliances, the building structures themselves are deteriorating. The floors are very squeaky and sound travels very easily between units. Some buildings have experienced dramatic settling ... cracks in walls and door frames out of square. Ultimately, the location is what kept me there for 2 years, as the rent was competitive with newer apt. complexes having lesser amenities. The Management was less than responsive in dealing with problems and issues, and you could tell A.R.A. was just another income-generator, of many, for the Home Properties Corporation. In my opinion, the competitive leasing market in Annapolis has driven Management to rent "at any cost" ... dogs over 30 lbs, college students @ more than 1 to a room, etc.
