My roommate and I began looking to move out of our parents' houses the spring/summer of 2004. I scouted Annapolis Roads myself that May 2004 and was treated with incredible respect and enthusiam by former leasing agent Greg (he's since left, miss him!). We were looking to move in Sept 2004 and we reserved one with a $300 deposit (later used as our security deposit). He orginally quoted me $1200 for the apartment which was top floor, end unit directly over the water with a spectacular view of the Chesapeake Bay! The apt was actually supposed to be $1275 but since he quoted me $1200, he honored that quote!
Yes, the apartments are a bit aged and "dated" in appearance, but very spacious and updated on the inside. Did I mention that he had TONS of storage space' So great!
Within 24 hours of moving in, my roommate and I accidently broke the washer. Within 30 minutes maitenance was there and it was fixed.
My roommate and I joked that the apartments were "sound proof" because if he was in the kitchen and I in a bedroom or bathroom, he'd had to yell loudly for me to hear him, it was great, we never were disturbed by noises or each other.
One of my favorite things about Annapolis Road was that they really cared about their residents. They routinely help community meetings, wine tastings, super bowl parties, you name it!
Regarding the staff, I never met Shari who apparently was disliked on other reviews. Betty, yes, she's about 90 years old, but very sweet. There was also Kim in the leasing center who was AWESOME! So much fun - we even had her over once for dinner!
Annapolis is very expensive to live (renting or otherwise) and Annapolis Roads does a great job at providing nice apartments that are affordable. (Never once did I see riff-raff, "criminals" or frat boys running around. Most were Young Professionals 20-30's and then a few young married couples with young babies.) I felt safe, I had a grea time and I would've never moved had my job not taken me away.
I would definitely recommend Annapolis Roads to anyone! Great place!
