Overall it's a decent place to live.
Pros: Low crime, lots of parking, a reasonable level of noise, and the most space for the money (trust me, we looked everywhere in Annapolis) IF they offer you one of their deals where they drop the price in exchange for you signing a year long lease. We had a top floor apartment that looked out into the wooded area, which was very pleasant. A VERY dog friendly community, which was a huge plus for us. A laundry room in the apartment was awesome, as was our spacious walk-in closet. Our apartment had fairly new appliances. Our stove was gas, and so was our heat, and gas was free. Walking distance to Quiet Waters Park. Mostly pleasant, easygoing neighbors. I felt safe walking my dogs on the sidewalks after dark.
Cons: Squeaky, very uneven floors come to mind. A creepy groundskeeper who gets driven around by his wife in their ancient van, while she gets road rage and honks at residents, and the groundskeeper shows up drunk and stinking of B.O. the day I lost my key and he had to let me into my apartment. Then there are the residents of the condominiums down the street who have to cut through our community to get home, and they all drive expensive cars and FLY through the neighborhood, swerving around speedbumps and not giving a ---- about the kids playing outside. While most of the residents are pleasant, average joe, middle class folks, there are exceptions. There's the white trash couple who can be heard having screaming matches across the street. There's the immigrant family who moved into our building, and not only is it like a revolving door of cars and people living there 2 or 3 days out of the week, but they CONSTANTLY are tossing their beer cans, cigarette butts, and fast food trash over their balcony into the common area. There is a definite inconsistency with the apartments... Our good friends on the bottom level had constant flooding, mold, and mildew. They also had MUCH older appliances, and an electric stove instead of gas. Also, we got only part of our security deposit back because they claimed carpet staining and that we didn't pay our last 2 water bills. Neither were true, but we didn't have pictures to prove the carpets had been thoroughly steam cleaned, and we didn't have records to prove we'd paid the water bill.
Overall, I didn't feel too strongly one way or the other about the community. I probably would have renewed my lease if I hadn't needed to relocate. If you do move here, make sure you get an apartment above ground level, and ask about the age of appliances. Document everything you clean or repair when you move out, and keep records of everything you've paid.

Funny how someone who is STILL a maintenance man here - for "12" years - will disrespect a former tenant who ultimately recommended the property... I'll remember to complain!
