I?ve lived here for two years. Here are my impressions:



I read the other reviews about Harbour Gates and I have to agree with the person who mentioned the squeaky floors. The floors are extremely squeaky. There are a few spots where the floor sags noticeably, too.



It can be very noisy. You can hear conversations, footsteps, tvs, stereos.



There are a few apartments in my building with lots more people than should be there.



Everything is clean. Maintenance is fast and professional. The office staff are nice. They are not helpful about noise complaints. They want you to write a letter and send it to the manager before they will take action.



Parking is bad where I live even though some of the apartments are empty. I wonder what it will be like when all the units are rented.



This complex would be a lot nicer if people with little kids would rent the ground floor units. The tenants above me have two kids who run back and forth and jump up and down constantly. It is horrible. I have friends in the condo community across the street and they have the same problem. Kids are noisy. They always have been and always will be. Mgmt could encourage families to take the ground floor by offering incentives or making it a policy. It would make things nicer for the rest of us.



It doesn?t help that mgmy expects you to take care of noise complaints yourself. My upstairs neighbors simply don?t answer their door. What am I supposed to do'



You pay for water and sewer. It's about $30 per month. Beware, though. They add a $3.00 service fee every month plus a 25 cent 'meter fee.'



Rent increases are very steep. They will tell you it increases about $10 / 20 a year but it isn?t true. It is more like $75.



This is the best apt complex in Annapolis. No doubt about it. If it weren?t so noisy, I might stay another year. But the family above me has chased me out. When my lease is up, I?m taking off.
