Okay, so the long and short - the place is well landscaped and as advertised has nice community ammenities (pool, gym, indoor pool, etc.). But the place is owned by a slum lord. The appliances are horrible (our range, washer and dryer have all needed to be replaced and the washer and dryer continue to require repair), the electric is terrible (our breaker always blew, they refused to fix it for months until they finally had the world's cheapest electrician do a cheap patch job, the bathroom fixtures and kitchen cabinets are rotting away, the average age in the community is 'three days past high school graduation' or in the alternative the older folks are mostly people who can't afford anything else (and I mean in terms of 'made bad decisions their whole life and still can't get out from under the screw-ups'), we have had problems with psychotic neighbors continually harrassing us for months on end with the leasing office refusing to move them.

Look, I understand that renting and apartment living comes with challenges, but I have lived in apartments for years in college and throughout law school - in three apartments before this one, and this is a horrible place in comparison. I am disturbed that I have paid all of this money for rent to what is a bona fide slum lord.

There are nicer places, some right around the corner, and most that are almost brand new construction - SPEND THE EXTRA FEW DOLLARS A MONTH AND GO TO SOMEWHERE NICER!

This is coming from someone who lied about their dog being hit by a car when in reality it bit the owner in the face and had to be put down. Obviously lying comes natural. Did they teach you that in law school?

In response to the post of 6/20/2008: We never had a dog bite either myself or my wife (the only two residents) or that had to be put down; we did attempt to rescue another dog who ended up having aggression issues and needed to be returned to the shelter (if they put her down, we were never told). Clearly the post on 6/20/08 was written by management who is upset by the fact that literally everyone who has written a review of the apartment complex has complained about the dilapidated conditions and the horrible management staff. I think everyone reading this can see the willingness of the management staff to misconstrue any situation, and disparage anyone who is willing to speak out against the horrible conditions at Harbour Gates. Kay Management is a well known slum lord, and hires management employees to carry out that reputation. I feel sorry for anyone who gets duped into living here, and more sorry for the ineptitude of the post from 6/20/08 who is willing to post defamatory and false comments, but only under color of anonymity. Kudos to you.
