I certainly don't know where to start with this review. We were so excited to move to Annapolis, Maryland from Laurel and were even more excited to find this brand new apartment complex with direct access garages, workout facilities, pool, animal-friendly, etc, etc...everything you read on their website. We knew they were overpriced, but, hey, what isn't in the greater DC area' Therefore, we were willing to shell out money for a nice place to live with people our age and what seemed like a "fun environment" to escape to after long days of work and even longer commutes. Things went great for about 3 months, slowly seeing the reality of this complex...it's garbage, including the management.

We rented a 2 bedroom, 2nd floor apartment ($1595/month) without a fireplace. We made fantastic friends, had a great time running our new puppy around the complex and using the dog park. We knew someone lived below us, but hardly ever heard him...then his psychotic wife moved in and within 1 week lodged 7 complaints with management regarding various "problems" with the community including her "noisy neighbors" above (aka. us). We were out the apartment an average of 12-14 hours/day, but his woman who never left her home found every step we took to be too much noise and repeatedly lodged complaints with management. Long story short, this woman started harassing us by slamming doors, spying on us outside her window when we would walk our dog, scream at us through the walls, physcially threaten us and our dog when we would walk outside, and various other actions. When we attempted to contact management regarding the situation, they said they knew she was causing other problems in the community and said it would be best if we could try to contact that tenant and her husband to work things out rationally. Let's just say that didn't work, so we went to our only option...the management. Legally, any management company is required to act on complaints within their community, especially harassment in a timely manner. Two months and 4 police visits later, nothing was done. The police themselves were about to take this woman in for making fraudulent complaints to the department (when she called complaing of noise when, apparently, we were not even home). Again, management telling us "things are in motion" and nothing being done. At this point, we realize nothing is going to be done by them and they still refuse to let us know what's happening due to "confidentiality issues" even though WE were one of the parties involved. Other members in the community were also lodging complaints to management regarding this tenant due to her volatile behavior...again, nothing done.

I'm sorry for the long-winded account, but I wanted to make clear the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel management company we have. I have not commented on other issues of concern about this complex or management, but this shows just how unsafe people felt in a "gated community" due to their neighbors and landlords unwilling to take care of their tenants. Not to mention the gunshots we would hear at all hours of the night from surrounding neighborhoods. An iron gate surely doesn't stop a bullet.

Basically, this complex is a high-priced ghetto. We found a beautiful home for rent on the water for the same price as the apartment we were in at Thornbury Bay. Please do not waste your time or sanity even considering these apartments. Construction is shoddy, grounds are slovenly, management is just plain incompetent, and Annapolis is too great a city to be experienced in a place like this. Explore your options.

P.S. I just want to thank that psychotic neighbor we had, though, for one thing. Through all the He## we were put through, she did enable us to get out of our lease without penalty and find this fantastic home. Thank you, dear.
