I moved into Thronbury when they first where built in 2003 (and am still living there). I am not going to lie, there are some bad surrounding areas located next to Thronbury, but to be honest, I feel pretty safe. The "20" is what locals call it, can be loud at times but over the past 2 years it has gotten much better. Police run constant patrol of the area. You will however see strange people walking around late at night outside of the gates going back and forth from around the Safeway area.
Annapolis overall is a pretty safe area to live. Thronbury's apartments are nice, I have Rarely heard much noise, the apartments are pretty quiet, and the new manager, Amy is nice (but she is leaving in two weeks so I do not know how the management is going to change).
The pool area is very nice, and there is a fenced in "dog park" (as we all call it) around the back of the community (just make sure to bring bug spray) Everyone I have met living at Thronbury have been very nice and are wonderful. Parking at times can be a problem (due to the boats parking lot near my building) but have not had too much of a issue lately.
