Decent enough, but upstairs noise is ridiculous

The apartment itself (2BR 2BA with Ranch Room on the second floor) was just big enough for me and my boyfriend, and there was plenty of closet space. The cabinets are a wee bit small, and the material used is subpar; we had to have a drawer replaced because it was flaking away into all my dishes. We did have some ant issues when the weather got warmer, but nothing incredibly severe.
Two MAJOR headaches I dealt with during my tenancy. The first was the washing machine. I'm sure the appliances aren't the same in every apartment, that they replace them as they break, but this washer became my mortal enemy (GE Spacemaker); if it was even the SLIGHTEST bit unbalanced, it would give a little alarm and stop running. Drove me batty.
But the cake is taken by the ceilings/floors. We had about three different sets of people living above us, and EVERY SINGLE ONE, as long as they were walking around, we could tell EXACTLY where they were in their apartment. There were only a few "squeaky" areas, which were annoying enough, but we could seriously detect every single footstep as if they were wearing weighted boots. If you don't want to deal with that, move into the third floor.
The windows were recently replaced, so outside noise and temperature 'seepage' are quite reduced, but the front doors still don't seal very well at all. And I think I found mold growing at the top of the doorjamb too.
Parking is fine in the middle of the day, but come evening/night, goooood luck.
Landscaping is decent enough. Naturally, they do a really nice job in the fronts of the buildings and an even nicer job around the front entrance and clubhouse, but not much else.
Safety is eh. I've never felt unsafe, but the gates/fencing around the grounds are really just an "illusion" of safety. The pedestrian doors do lock and have key combos, but often get left unlatched. All you need to get in the front gate with a car is...a car. It's just a weight sensor, and really makes you feel safer than you actually are...or just anxious for the gate to open.
For the price of the place, the construction isn't good enough for me. I mentioned my issues with this (cabinetry, floors/ceilings).
The office and maintenance staff have always been helpful and relatively responsive to issues. The girls in the office are very friendly and eager to help you out however they can, or just chit-chat for a half hour.
If you need the location and can afford it, I would recommend this complex. Just go for the third floor, and don't be afraid to address concerns with your place.

It seems to me that they are fixing up the face of it for a reason, perhaps to sell it or raise the frigging rent AGAIN? When they replaced the windows, I had little pieces of glass throughout my apt. for 2 months. It was like a circus, so unorganized on the part of the workers and the apt. staff.
I was told to vacuum more often.
The asphalt fiasco was just another example of the poorly run administration.
The main girl who works in the office, Cristine is great, the other one is a condescending bi%@#!
I am leaving before my lease runs out and would not reccomend to anyone.
