I lived in this apartment for one year and it was horrible. The property is dirty, run-down and expensive; the maintenance is often non-existent.
Better yet, everyone I've known who has lived in this building has had to fight for their security deposit back. The landloads claimed outlandish damange that was pre-existing and went back on their word.
If you are reading this and still contemplating renting, some advice: cover your back at every turn and good luck.

VERY FAIR LANDLORD. SOME PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ARE THE BIGGEST TOUBLE MAKERS IN THE BUILDING THAT MANAGEMENT HAS KICKED OUT FOR THE PEACE AND RESPECT OF THE OTHER TENANTS. IF YOU DO NOT GET YOUR S.DEPOSIT BACK THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE APARTMENT AND WAS SELF-INDUCED. THE MANGEMENT DOES AGREAT JOB KEEPING THIS BUILDING UP TO DATE AND CLEAN. STUDENTS WHO WANT TO PARTY AND NOT BE SERIOUS STUDENTS CAUSE THE TOUBLE IN THE BUILDING AND CAN NOT SPEAK FOR OUTHER TENANTS WHO HAVE HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT THE ALLSTON.
