Yes, I know, the prices look unbelievably low, and they include utilities. It seems to good to be true. And the reason is that it is. When my roommates and I first moved in to the apartment, they provided us with one key to the building, and one set of keys for the apartment, even though there were three of us. We paid for the apartment keys to be copied, and two of us had to pay $10 each for a front door key. When we arrived to begin moving in our property, we were told we would have to wait, since the super picked the day our lease began to fix the kitchen floor. Which was amazing, considering that he never fixed anything else. Our garbage disposal rusted out, and it took almost two weeks for it to be fixed, during which time we could not use the sink, or the dishwasher (since it backed up into the sink through the garbage disposal). Upon moving in we discovered that about half of the outlets in the apartment did not work, the lightswitches in the bedroom did not work, and one of the bedroom doors was missing the doorknob. In the 2 years that we lived there, these problems were never fixed. In addition, the bedroom door fell off the hinges about 4 months ago and has still not been fixed, the toilet, which was already broken when we moved in, broke multiple times but has never been replaced, and a leak in the bathroom ceiling that was never fixed, in spite of multiple complaints, eventually caused the ceiling to fall in, a problem which has not been fixed after about 2 weeks. In addition, all the spaces in the parking lot are reserved, except for about 10, and reserved parking costs around $50 a month per space. The elevators break roughly once a month, the fire alarms are messed up and go off randomly, and the parking lot lights do not always go on at night. And the coup de grace' The last super was evicted for giving people false eviction notices, so that he could collect the money, collecting rent in the office and then not sending it to the rental management agency, and for not sending leases in to the management agency, which resulted in people living in the building under the impression that they had a lease, when in actuality they were living there illegally, and their rent money was going into the super's pocket.
