I was a little skeptical about applying here because I was treated rudely over teh phone by the leasing consultant. I ignored my instincts and decided to pay the community a visit anyway. Upon arriving, I was told that they didn't have any clean apartments to view, however I was welcome to see an apartment where someone had just been evicted. Upon walking down the hallway, I was scared to death. THe hallways are dark and gloomy, plus several of the doors looked like they had been kicked in. Upon entering the apartment, I disregarded the fact that the place was filthy. I assumed it came from the previous tenants being filthy. The lady promised me new appliances, carpet, etc. When I entered teh living room to judge the space, I was greeted by a large dead mouse in the middle of the floor. I was quite disturbed by this. The leasing consultant promised me that they exterminate often. Against my better judgement, I really liked the lay out and spaciousness of the place. I went ahead and applied. I figured i would get a cat to deal with the mouse issue, and just keep my place clean. I mean it is hard to find a 2 bedroom/2 bath with utilities included for $800mo. Anyway, I was extremely suprised when I was denied the apartment. When I called to find out why, I was informed that although my credit is good, my income exceeds their maximum. I had no idea that they would discriminate against me because I am a professional person. WTF' I am assuming that they wouldn't like my kind there. You know, young, educated, good credit, excellent salary......what's wrong with that picture. I was stressed however because I had exactly 2 weeks to move or renew the lease for the place I was currently staying at. Luckily, I was able to find an opening in a loving apartment community managed by Berkshire Management. The apartment I now have is everything I was hoping for plus some. My advice is DON'T SETTLE FOR THESE APARTMENTS OUT OF DESPERATION! KEEP ON LOOKING! ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THESE! TRUST ME, THEY ARE CHEAP AND CHEESY IN EVERY SINCE OF THE WORD!!!
