MONEY-HUNGRY, and don't care about residents

Essentially you can say that the rent is whatever they state is the rate, PLUS $250-$300 a month. If you fall behind in the water bill (who wouldn't with the cost of gas rising, plus BGE bills..YES- this water/heat bill is in ADDITION to your monthly public utility bill), they threaten you with eviction. It has gotten insane. I have been with Home Properties for 12 years...and this has really gotten to be a gold-digging operation. I don't see how they think they will continue to retain residents, and those who could afford this highway-robbery have homes/estates...so who knows what they are trying to accomplish. Sure they make it look nice, but this is after winter after winter of un-insulated old windows, then a limited thermostat, lack of sufficient parking, icy sidewalks in winter. Now they replace windows and plant flowers with our hard-earned money, not recognizing the years of what we had to endure BEFORE..then are quick to want to throw you out should you have the slightest problems, although you pay their exhorbitant late/court fees. They should be happy to keep you when you make them an extra $200 a month.

Either you are about a year behind on your water bill or that bill you refer to includes the gas. Considering that your neighbors are complaining about their heat bills I'll assume you are lumping the two utilities together. In which case the limited thermostat that you are complaining about is probably there to help you as it would keep your neighbors from setting their heat at 90 and thus running the bill up for everyone including you (even though it seems like a pain in the you know what). And the best complaint of all is about having the windows replaced directly after you complain about the poor insulation of the old windows. As for the rising BGE bills, Vice President....I mean Governor O'Malley says we should all try to conserve. But I don't suppose that BGE increases has anything to do with your apartment community.

amen to the above respondant. people who complain about the utilities are the ones who A) have nothing better to do and B) can't pay their bill in the first place. utility prices are on the rise. bonnie ridge can't control that and neither can any other apt complex you may go to.

No, but BR can control whether or not they use ratio utility billing. The contract they have with the company is sealed and they refuse to show it to anyone. This says they have something to hid. Wonder who is paying for filling the pool with water? To heat the gym? You bet it's the tenants. Don't be a fool and believe the BR has nothing to do with the utilities. they have everything to do with them.
