do yourself a favor and don't move here.

I have lived in Bonnie Ridge since November. My roommates and I were actually really excited to move here. Our last apartment was not that great, and when we took a tour of Bonnie Ridge we fell in love. When we moved in however, it became clear that we made a mistake. I'd say that our biggest problem is that we have had cockroaches since the day that we moved in. We are very clean, do not leave dishes in the sink, and clean our kitchen every day as we use it. We don't even leave crumbs on the counter and we sweep every day. But, since day one, we have had roaches. That is disgusting. We have called maintenance numerous times (3 the last time I counted) and they either don't show up or they come at a ridiculous time of day (Christmas Eve'). When they do show up they just spray a little or mistakenly think that we have mice (ew) and get our complaints wrong.
There have been at least two times that we didn't have water, and when we called to ask about what was going wrong, got attitude and no answers.
Then there is the Ista Bill. If Bonnie Ridge just wants to get extra money from us, raise the rent. Otherwise, don't give us a bill that is so obviously BS. My roommates and I have run the heat literally two weeks, and that was when we first moved in in November. Since then we have never run it, but continue to get a $160 monthly Ista Bill telling us our heat usage was a majority of that bill, with hot water making up about $3. I realize that this is "split between the entire community" or so Bonnie Ridge says. If this is so, why do we also pay BGE' Every other apartment I have ever lived in just had BGE. And my roommates and I are very thrifty with our BGE usage. We unplug EVERYTHING and have seen our bill reduced dramatically. Our BGE bill makes sense. Ista is obviously a scam that Bonnie RIdge throws in there to get extra money, you can even just pay it online right along with your rent, directly to Bonnie Ridge. Convenient.
And make sure to carry some pepper spray with you if you come home after dark, some of the parking areas are completely dark and actually perfect for a mugging or worse.
Basically, Bonnie Ridge is a crappy apartment complex that disguises itself as a nice apartment complex. They put new appliances in some of the apartments and new carpeting, etc, but when it comes down to it they are old and poorly constructed. The maintenance workers are unqualified and the buildings are poorly constructed and maintained.
Do yourself a favor, avoid bonnie Ridge.
