I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I think the apartments are generally very nice and I feel safe here. The maintenance people are so nice and helpful. I've even had good experiences with the staff. It's important to pay attention to letters they send you and there's always like 10 so you can't miss them. The fitness center and pool and facilities are really nice.

There are some things that aren't the greatest, but I've seen so much worse. Some things are that I can hear every step of the old woman above me who I think stomps around and literally walks laps in her apartment for exercise from 6:30am - 2am. Also it was a majorly dumb idea to put a dryer in the kitchen that pumps the lint all over your apartment and sticks to the walls. We had ants once but I did a vinegar treatment and then called maintenance and they were GONE the next day.. pretty amazing. The #1 worst thing that happened to me there was that a neighbor got bed bugs and they had to treat all the surrounding apartments. Luckily I didn't get the bugs and I'm grateful that they were concerned about the residents, BUT they gave us 1 day notice to wash/dry ALL clothing and such (linens, curtains, towels) and bag up EVERYTHING and remove everything from the walls and take our beds apart like there's room for all that. The worst part was that we had a treatment every 2 weeks for 6 weeks and they expected us to leave everything in the bags and our beds against the wall for this time... like where were we supposed to sleep for 6 weeks'' Naturally I just put it back together and took it apart every 2 weeks. HUGE pain especially during summer where I was out of town every other weekend. Also, I tried asking for an extension on my decision to renew and they told me to contact management... I emailed him 3 times and NEVER received a response. Luckily, I decided to live there for another year anyway.

Overall, I would say it's not bad for an apartment. You'll always have sounds issues and neighbor issues in an apartment setting... and sometimes even bugs issues. The important thing to me is that they were prompt to help when they could.. great friendly maintenance. I'll probably continue living here until I get the $$ to move across the country.

I too live at Ivymount and I previously lived at Bonnie Ridge. I too agree that it is a piece of crap. Ivymount handles situations in a totally different manner. Yes your neighbors can make any experience bad but at Bonnie Ridge the office staff do absolutely nothing about the problems in my experience. Now I live in a mouse and bug free apartment. If something does arise I feel confident in saying the problem will be handled in a timely manner and I won't feel like my problem is my responsibility. I never want to experience the living arrangements I experienced ever again. Lucky for you it hasn't been that bad that is all I can say. Lucky lucky you!

wow, you must have extremely low living expectations. I lived there for a year, it was a complete dump. I now live at Ivymount Apartments, and it is by far the best apartment I have lived in. No problems at all.

well i've lived in college so i'm not expecting perfection here. i really don't see what is so horrible.. alot depends on your neighbors and you can't pick them anywhere. if you live next to dirty people then you get bugs.. nothing the apartment can really do about that other than treat the existing problem. i'm sure if dirty loud people moved in next to you then you would have the same problems at ivymount.
