Not a great choice

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008

I lived in Canterbury for 2 years. In the beginning, the neighbors were friendly and the community was nice. However, in the last year things really went downhill. The leasing staff became angry and almost abusive at times when they felt like they were being "rushed" to fix an issue, such as someone else parking in our one and only assigned parking spot for 6 hours on a rainy day. The one shining spot in the staff here were the maintenance guys - they were friendly, quick, and just all round nice guys. Recently, the people moving into these apartments have not been the kind of people you want as neighbors. Specifically, more than once I came home to hear people absolutely screaming at each other in the apartment buildings I walked by on the way to my own. There also is a serious cat problem in the "woods" area that no one seems to want to talk care of. You get what you pay for... but I wouldn't recommend moving into Canterbury.

Dear -Anonymous,
I totally agree with you. I've lived there for a year, as soon as you speak with the manager she immediately becomes agrumentive.

We had the same experience with the leasing staff. We are SO HAPPY to be out of there! Last year was hell.

i agree about the leasing office but a cat problem? out of ALL the other problems, you're worried about cats? get real. do you not know that there is a sweetheart of an older lady that is a resident and takes cares of those cats? i'm not so much concerned with the cats that dont bother anyone but rather the dogs that bark NON STOP. ive never heard anyone comlain about cats...lol..wow.

well when you LIVE in a dog building, dogs are going to bark. id worry more with the stinky cats than the damn dogs. people have the RIGHT to have animals. maybe if everyone got a day job, we wouldnt nit pick with EVERY SINGLE LITTLE DETAIL.

I think all of you have too much time and should probably think about buying a home instead of expecting the Taj Mahal in a property that is almost 30 years old. You chose the apartments, no one forced you to live there.

Okay seriously, the cats are a problem. I live near the lady who takes care of them. Thats nice she wants to help but I dont want nasty stray cats sitting around my front door. They also sit on everyones cars and if I have one scratch on my car from the stupid cats then I'd call animal control. Nobody wants them lurking around all day, and especially to cause problems with OUR pets. You have no idea what kind of diseases they might have...
