Ive been living at Canterbury for about 1 month, and so far I have little complaints. The biggest complaint is not the blame of canterbury, but the noisy neighbors. The psycho underneath me plays his heavy metal at unbelievable volumes way into the night. it is also very disturbing to hear people having sex at 3am. Luckily the neighbor above me is rather quiet....Thank God. Everything else has been ok...maintenance is great, they respond to requests within 24 hours. After reading other reviews the mouse issue really scared me, but it seems as if my apartment has all holes (underneath sinks, balcony area, behind toliet) have already been sealed. I did see a roach, but what can you expect.

Thanks for responding. The newer buildings are the ones on the end of Livia Ct. The chunky square buildings. Not the long buildings. We are in a first floor apartment. It's my Mom and I and she is quite elderly and we need the first floor.
My nephew and his wife lived on Abigail in a middle floor apt. and they liked it. I guess it depends on who your neighbors are. We've lived in apartments or townhouse most of my life and dealt with all kinds of neighbors noisy and nice. If we don't like it we will find somewhere else I guess. I like the location- so close to the mall and the Avenue and Target. We live up in Lancaster PA right now so I can't just run over and look at the apartment. So I'm going on just having seen the complex when I was down there when my nephew and his wife lived there and their opinion of the place.

It's been six months now, and my view of Canterbury has changed somewhat. The flooring is terrible! That is my greatest complaint. You can hear every step the upstairs neighbor makes. I hope you're moving into a 3rd floor apartment. This has to be by far the noisiest apartment I have lived in. Another complaint is the intercom system...it has not worked since I moved in, which means when I have a guest that comes over I must go to the front entrance to let them in. I spoke with the maintenance mgr and he assured me he would be by the next day- never heard from anyone since. They kinda blow it off...but I was told a month and a half ago that they were restructuring the system. I just gave up!!! I have not seen a single mouse since Ive lived here, which is great. The hallways seem to have a strange smell at times. Im not ro sure about the "new buildings" didnt know there were any...Im on Abigail..so...
Hope this helps
I dont plan on renewing my lease because I dont feel I should change my life around because of noisey neighbors, ie- sleeping on the couch because my neighbor walks at all times of the night, buying an ipod so I can sleep w/o hearing my neighbors, etc. Its been a real pain in my butt.

I've been living at Canterbury Apartments for more than a year. To tell the truth, I regret that I renewed my agreement for another 10 month, I just did not have time to look for another apartment. The neighbors are not just noisy, they are unfriendly and not understanding at all. They can shout in the middle of the night or slam the doors so loud that the whole building vibrates. Mice and roaches are definitely feeling at home here. And on the top of all - the rent is too high for such a terrible place. I would never recomment this community to anyone.
