Very happy

I moved here in the fall of 05, and from the start I have had a great time. Moving from NY, 25 years old, not knowing anyone in Baltimore, I found Centerpoint to be just what I needed. I have made a lot of close friends here, the happy hours were a great help plus most of the other residents are from out of state also so people are generally very friendly. I found the maintenance staff to be very helpful when I needed something taken care of, for example they cleaned my air filter within 45 minutes of my email asking them to. I needed my carpets steam cleaned, there was a crew there the next day plus it cost less than hiring an outside contractor.

I have only heard of the issues that other people are bringing up, the staff has done a great job in addressing those issues from what I can tell. The Parking garage is a great plus, living in a city you can park on the street where you car will get hit, scratched and broken into. The garage is in the center of the block and there is constant security and garage personal around at all times. At night there is a metal gate that comes down for added security, your parking pass will open it after hours.

To address some of the concerns I read in other peoples comments.
Parking is expensive: You live in a city, of course you are going to have to pay for parking. The $120 a month is less than most other garages in the area. There is always the street.
Noise: If you live in a new building, the windows are very good at keeping the sound out. I first moved in on the 11th floor where there was hardly and street noise when I left my windows and balcony door open. I moved to the 3rd floor and have a corner apt where I face a very busy intersection, yes if my windows are open I can hear the street noise but if they are closed it is very quite. If noise is an issue move to the suburbs.
Cost: Centerpoint is right in line with all the other apartments in the area, plus take into consideration a lot of other apts. Do not have a washer and dryer in each unit, which is a huge plus for me!
Unsafe area: There are security personal around at all times, plus the city has hired a crew to stand on almost every street corner in the downtown area. There are people around at all times, use common sense and you will be fine. There are a lot of hotels and events?? going on in our area so the city is making a good effort at all times to keep it safe.
Other Residents: There are a lot of residents who are in the mid 20s-30s. Most of us are social but respectful, everywhere you go you will find people that are not welcome to apartment living.
I like the area because I can walk to the harbor, or I can take a cab anywhere in the city for $5-$10. Baltimore is a fun city if you get out and socialize, there is always something going on and always plenty of people you know attending it.
