Hello,

I am extremely concerned about my utility bill for this month. I just moved from Miami where I always kept my condo at 78 degrees and the charge per kwt in Miami is more than Baltimore City. My electric bill was always around 45-60 dollars a month and water around 10-20 dollars a month. Which is a total of around $75 dollars of month for UT. I move to centerpoint tower community which is a smaller unit than my condo in Miami by the way and my first month of living in the tower I receive a $231 electric bill for 18 days of service, and charged $85 dollar flat fee for '' and a $11 water bill extra charges for application fees for a 705 sq ft 1/1 apt. I call BGE and informed them that my bill is very high for a small 1/1 apt. They informed me to keep my temp at 78 degrees. The problem is the tower units don't have a temp gage. I leave my apt at 7:30AM and I do not return till 7PM. And my total utilities are still over $330 dollars. That is extremely excessive for a small 1/1. I have asked over and over what the $85 dollar charge is for and none of the employees can give me a straight answer b/c they simply don't know. BGE informed me that they have never heard of the $85 dollar charge and that the charge of $85 doesn't make sense. I would assume that whoever is reading this would understand that a bill of over $330 dollars a month for a 705 sq ft 1/1 apt is a bit over the line. Other than that I really have nothing to complain about. Great location, good fitness center, and overall a good place to live. I would really be careful before moving in b/c of the utility cost.

Baltimore has the highest utility rates in the nation. And yes on top of that, your apartment is trying to make more $ by charging you those fees.

I lived in a 2/2 in the tower and my BG&E bill was never that high (although there is a studabaker bill that takes care of the AC)
