These people will try to keep your security deposit for wear-and-tear, which is NOT LEGAL.
Since Avalon took over, life at Centerpoint has become vastly more frustrating.
I'm only a "visitor," but I used to be able to park out front until Avalon got real strict with the towing during office hours (which they change constantly, not that you would know it from the front door since they only post changes inside).
Fine, they offer a discount in the garage, which is okay.
Not okay: As others have noted elsewhere, they will try to keep your security deposit at the end of your lease for basic wear-and-tear issues like carpet cleaning and wall painting.
They won't "let" you do your own cleaning.
They've even started having people sign this form that any difference in the condition of the apartment can cost money at the end (excluding everything from the category of wear and tear), which is so not legal.
Know your rights, people!

There are also links from this page to a form where you can file a complaint.
Don't let these people off the hook for their illegal business practices.

I'm in the process of fighting for my deposit right now. I was told I would have it in 3 weeks. Then I was told 6-8 weeks. No one will give me a straight answer as to whether or not they took any deductions. I thought I was finally rid of this place and they're still a thorn in my side. Please don't consider moving here - there is a reason so many units are vacant!
