Being that I am opening a sports bar themed restaurant at Centerpoint (late August , early September...basically football season), I'm sure everyone can understand why I am spending my Friday night getting a feel for the needs of the neighborhood.
The name of the restaurant that will be opening across the alley from what used to be Maggie Moore's (corner lot) is WOW Cafe' and Wingery. WOW is a franchise, but I wouldn't be surprised if noone has heard of it yet, because it is so young. They are based in New Orleans and are spreading up north, having 4 locations in Maryland and one in DC. To paint a better picture...imagine a Friday's but actually having great food and flat screens everywhere...including the booths. Yes, this is for real. Check it out... www.wingery.com . You can also ask that pretty light skinned lady in the leasing office and I am sure she will tell you about it and I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't mention the sexy Indian cat opening it up ...j/k :).
I am not and probably will not be a tenant at Centerpoint, not because of the comments or reviews but simply because I found another location to invest in. So you may be asking yourself why is this guy on an apartment ratings site when he is not going to live there. Well, as I mentioned before I want to know what YOU want. I have been reading the reviews and they don't look to hot, but being the pioneer minded person I am ... I want to make a change. I want to be a part of something that improves other people's and my own life.
So your a/c cuts out once in while or your sink backs up...trust me I know how it is because I am currently a property manager in DC. What if you had a place to go to that was YOUR place...no stuffiness...nothing but friendly faces and good times...maybe then you can escape the confines of your apartment and have a local spot to go unwind. I am not writing because I need approval because the everything is in motion and come hell or high water , our restaurant will open and we are going to have a good ass time. In a way I am putting the word out, but at the same time ready to hear your thoughts.
By the way, I am going to offer delivery , only to residents of Centerpoint and catering to those outside. WOW stands for World of Wings, check out the menu on the website...it's cajun inspired (things like catfish and hurricanes) and has 17 DIFFRENT FLAVORS of wings. I'm not some corporate cat...I'm a guy from DC that saw potential in a location to open a restaurant that he believes is the perfect fit for the people. I have read a few comments about how centerpoint is "dead" at night...well, I think you know what I am going to say...remember I want to be a pioneer :). Anyway, please give me your thoughts ... positive , negative...trust me I will only use them to improve the restaurant. Peace
Alex

I think this is great. The area needs more development and you have to go outside the neighborhood for variety in food. Delivery to the building is a great idea.

Usually I don't like advertisements but the delivery to residents is an awesome idea - it is not the greatest area to go get carry out in and I love wings.
