I moved into one of the apartments in the older building a few month ago. When I first moved in, the weather was fairly warm and the air conditioning unit did nothing to cool the place. So I just stopped running it and delt with being uncomfortable. Now that it is the winter time, I cannot tell you the blues I am facing. Despite my BGE bill remaining over $250, I am sick everyday because I am literally freezing. I can turn the heat on 80 degrees and the warmest my apartment will get is 58 - 60 degrees. I cannot even have company over because they cannot tolerate how cold the apartment is. I feel very cheated because I moved here from out of state and I expressed my need to control my financial budget to the leasing agent that assisted me. When asked about the utility bills, she assured me that at the most I'll probably pay in this unit is $150 and she never mentioned to me the conditions of heating or cooling apartments in the older buidling. Because of my job relocation, I had to move in without physically seeing the apartment because of time contraints. Now here I am paying over $250 when the apartment neither warms or cools. It has gotten so bad, that I know if something does not give,I will be forced to break my lease or place an account in escrow and see if the courts can assist me. I cannot live in these conditions for another 4 months until the weather warms up again. My health is very important to me and it is not worth being sick everyday because of the living conditons of an apartment. For anyone to pay the type of prices you pay to live here and in addition have to pay over $250 to BGE.....you should at least be able to live comfortably. I am very miserable and wish I had taken more time to find a place to stay. As far as maintenance and the front office goes....so far no solutions....I would not recommend this place to anyone. I think I was leased that particular unit because of the problems that come along with staying there. If I can make it through this winter...I definately will not be leasing here another year. It is just not worth it.

Hi, I am looking for some help in places to stay. I am a travel nurse and I will be starting at John Hopkins the end of Jan. My company named a few places I could stay. The list is Avalon at Centerpt, Park Charles Apt, Camden Courts and Marlboro Classic Appt. Any comments would be great. Thanks
