Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
I lived here for about four years and am moving because or job relocation. I am not picky, but here are the pros and cons of this place. Pro it is centrally located to the harbor, the staff is friendly and helpful, apartments are pretty nice inside, and its not very noisy inside the apartment complex. Cons, parking is terrible. You pay $150 a month and its not reserved. You are usually on the roof and if there are events, since its a public garage you could be stuck trying to get out for an hour or so. Utilities are outrageous. You can expect in a one bedroom to pay between $100 to $150 per month for BGE and so me submetering company. This is from someone who is rarely home and never turns on heat or air. They have some deal where you pay a set amount per month for electric which is around $90. The heat/air has no thermostat, its either hot or cold and it is always too hot or too cold. Pets of all sizes are allowed and it constantly smells of urine in the elevators, outside, etc. Finally, not the fault of centerpoint at all but this is a really bad area. One can easily be fooled, but trust me people get shot/stabbed and not just in the middle of the night, right in front of the place or within a few blocks. If you are the kind of person who is not street savy or is easily frightened do not move here. Cars are broken into, people yell at you, residents are robbed and assaulted, but its the area where the place is. Also it is loud outside. There is a fire station not even a block away, tons of police activity, a light rail taht blows its horn constantly, and a large amount of street activity, including yelling, etc outside.
