The insides of the apartments are nice. But...
The building is nice cosmetically, but it's OLD and it shows in the important stuff...
*Lukewarm water at very low pressure. *Windows are old and provide no insulation from temperature or street noise (which is hell). *Heating/cooling system don't cool the apartments sufficiently in the summer or heat them enough in the winter. *Elevators breakdown often and they are too cheap to have them fixed on weekends. Expect up to 15 minute delays getting up and down when this happens. *Although the maintenance and cleaning staff are GREAT, the office staff are the rudest, most ignorant people on I have ever dealt with. Simply horrible from the top down.
You'll be paying for the renovation of the front of the building.
All-in-all this building is WAY overpriced. Southern Management likes to say it's based on the "downtown market", but dont' bother to point out that since they own most of the high-rise apartments downtown, they set the market.
Also: I was shown the "renovated" apartments (which cost a good deal more), unfortunately they have been renovated to mid-80's "luxury" standards. Quite tacky, more ghetto-fabulous than luxury.
