One of the worse places downtown. Yes, everything looks great cosmetically, especially from the outside. But that's where the good times end.
Things break a lot. Especially the elevators. Especially the hot water. Especially the a/c and heating. We've had elevators go offline for a week (big deal in such a large building). Right now the hot water has been luke warm for two days. Here's the problem: when these things go wrong ont he weekend, Charles Towers will not have them fixed until the Monday. They consider not having hot water a "non-emergency". Second, when these things go wrong there is no communication from Charles Towers. You have to call the office and ask what is going on. And if you do, you get an awful attitude for having dared to ask!
In conclusion: This is a horribly old building that cannot be properly renovated unless it is emptied. Sure, there are lots of cosmetic improvements, and yay for them, but the infrastructure (windows, elevators, pipes, heating, and air conditions) are an awful mess and all they can do is patchwork that really doesn't help much.
Thanks for the 3 days of cold showers Charles Towers. And I'm SO sorry I mentioned it via telephone. I know it must be horrible with pesky tenants actually expecting some customer service. I don't know how you get through the days! This is NOT luxury.
Despite all the mess with the above and the continued mess with the construction (that I'm told is years past the promised due date), they are raising rents over 20% here and there are many empty apartments to show for it.
