Every year when it gets to be hot, we are told the a/c will take time to go on because they are fixing a chiller. This winter the heat was turned off twice for entire days because they were replacing a chiller "in preparation for the warm months ahead". Recently we were told the a/c/ wouldn't go on because, you guessed it, they were replacing a chiller. Today we were told, sorry, no a/c because something broke when were replacing the chiller and the part has to go on order. I'm sick of this.

Meanwhile everyone sits sweltering in this dump (except of course the office staff because they have actual HVAC air/conditioning, not this ridiculous system the rest of of swelter with).

Maybe by July we'll have a/c and hopefully, unlike previous years, the apartments will get cool.

Construction crews continue to run out of control in this area. If you live here, be prepared to wake up at 5:30 A.M. to the sound of jackhammering and equipment being slammed about. I can hear it loudly on the 15th floor over a loud fan. It's ridiculous. The noise occurs all week and on weekends. Right now it's 9 p.m. and the jackhammering has STARTED for the evening. Absolutely ridiculous. Charles Towers management likes to blame it on the city and shrug their shoulders, but Southern Management/the owners of the building are responsible for a lot of it.

I'm tired of the noise. Tired of the things that don't work. I'm tired of the lies.

The elevators are broken a lot. When they aren't, they're poorly programmed so you have to wait a very long time for one to come. The windows suck. The heating and air conditioning system doesn't work well at all. The trash chutes stink. There are way more things wrong with this building than is worth putting up with.

The laundry room is inadequate for the number of people in the building. Especially when many tenants use most of the machines and then leave their wet laundry in them for hours. The larger machines break, and stay broken, frequently. The expensive cards you have to buy to use the machines wear out frequently, so you have to buy yet another one, even if you had money left on the old one. Great scam there.

And, yes, the office staff is incredibly rude and ignorant. You can put trash in nice suits, but they remain ignorant, ill-mannered trash.

DO NOT MOVE HERE and, please, for the love of god, help me get out!

Dear Dying_From_Heat, I lived in Charles Towers from 2006-2007. I could only handle one year and it was very HOT in my apartment. My windows rattled and the office staff was RUDE! Yes, the price was cheap but it was cheap for a reason to keep people there. I graduated from school and was able to afford a couple dollars more. Save your money and get out because it will never get better!
