Going down hill

When my husband and I first moved in the neighborhood was great. We felt comfortable when our children went outside to play. We loved the area. Every store you could need is nearby. There's the White Marsh Mall, Lowes theater, Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc. Those days are gone. Several years ago numerous complaints were made because the dumpster would always overflow and garbage would pile around it. Last year they finally put a second dumpster. Unfortunately, adults allow their small children, sometimes just 6 years old, take out the garbage. They can't reach the dumpster so they always leave it on the side. In the summer the crows break open the bags. I always feel so sorry for the maintenance men, having to clean up after these irresponsible people. Then lets not forget about the kids. The young ones hang in the trees and the older ones never seem to sleep. In the summertime you might hear kids hanging out well past 1 a.m. When you complain to the leasing office they tell you to call the police, who never come. A couple of years ago there was a lot of vandlism. Cars would get keyed all over. Car windows shot out with bebe guns. They just installed brighter lighting in the parking lots. Just in this year a kid was beaten with a baseball bat, a girl was stabbed with a steak knife, and another kid killed off of Dunfield road, shot to death. You have neighbors that play loud music, and since the walls are thin it sounds like they are in your livingroom. They like to play loud music from their cars while waxing them. I can't stand the neighborhood anymore. Kids are out of control, adults are out of control. I just don't feel comfortable here anymore. It's a shame too because I really used to love this neighborhood.

Wow, as I read your review, I could feel your dispair. I remember once, a few year ago -- just around the time that they put in the Food Lion, considering to move to Dunfield. It was nice then. I don't remember, now what it was that caused me to move elsewhere (probably the proximity to work), but in any case, it has recently become necessary for me to relocate and I was again considering to move to Dunfield ... now I'm wondering ... I feel what you're saying, but after my most recent experiences with trying to find just the right place, right now my greatest concern is that I'm not greeted with unwelcomed "pets" or really, should I say, PESTS, i.e., roaches, mice, etc.

We have finally moved out. Thank God! My husband and I couldn't move out of there fast enough. The drama in that place has become unbearable. After 7 years of that place I am finally at peace. The neighbors have gotten so disrespectful of their neighbors. I had neighbors on one side of me that must of moved in with roaches because after they arrived we started seeing them. The neighbors on the other side...the husband beats his wife and young son and they argue all the time all hours with police arriving. The walls are so thin so we hear everything.
I heard from a maintenance worker that they started letting in Section 8 tenants. I don't want to say that all who are on Section 8 are bad tenants but I spoke to a family who moved in 3 months ago in my complex. The mother of the family mentioned to me that she was on Section 8. She said it was her and her daughter. Funny how I see 6 of them in that house. All they do is hang on the stoop during the day and in the evenings. When they clean their cars on the weekends, they have the music blasting from the their cars. Lets not forget about the dumpsters. There are still 6 years olds taking out the garbage. They put a 2nd dumpster a few years ago but all that did was allow people from either other parts of the complex or other neighborhoods to dump their garbage. The other thing is that no one is watching their children. There are little kids, as young as 5, cursing as they run up and down the street. Now that the weather is nice every teenager is out late. Have any of these parents ever heard of a curfew?
And 4 months ago our toilet overflowed. Maintenance came in a put 2 big noisy fans in he bathroom to dry the walls. They were in there for a week. I think they forgot about us. When we called them to remind them, they tore out the baseboard and never replaced it. We called them over and over again yet they never showed. With all said and done I wouldn't suggest that anyone move in here. You will pay for it later when you're stuck in a lease that you can't get out of without paying 2 months rent for breaking the lease. Make your decision wisely before thinking of moving here.

Wow..they left us with the fans running for 5 days after the upstairs washer blew up. Our electric was over 100.00 more then what we normaly pay. It was such a nightmere...we couldnt use 2 bedrooms and the liveingroom as the entire upstairs had become flooded and of course went into our place. 5 people liveing in one bedroom and they told us..we dont compensate for lose of use of the apartment. But the lease states they do! It was such a nightmere we simply gave up. Sharon is a terrible property manager, she stinks like smoke like the entire rental office. No one seems to know what's going on. Her nephew used to work there with her and nothing ever was addressed. Ashley is usless as a employee she doesnt know anything when you ask for help. and doesnt make sence to have her get the info, she wont call you back anyways. Dont walk away from here...RUN!!!
