I'm relocating and ...

I know you may want and need to boost your complex's ratings, but management really needs to stop putting "positive" false ratings on this site. It's supposed to be a place where a person can go to get a true overview of what the property is really like before making the mistake of renting somewhere that they will find themselves miserable for the better part of a year. People that check sites like this one, no doubt are doing so because the want to make an informed decision regarding where they want to live, and may even feel as I do and not want to have to continue to move from place to place at the end of each year, mainly because they were douped, by the higher rating percentage, into thinking that one place or another was not that bad when in all actuality it was/is.

Do a better job about maintaining the property you are supposed to be managing and you won't have to go on a site like this, offering false information and sometimes telling outright blatant lies in order to get new people to become residents or to keep the residents you currently have.

People will flock to you, if you offer what they need, at a reasonable price (or give them more of what their dollars should be paying for) without the extra added "bonus" of already installed pets (or would that be better rephrased to read "pests"')!!!!

From your review, I can tell that you are not satisfied with living at KV, however, I would be interested in knowing if you displeasure includes the fact that the property has "provided you with unwelcomed pets/pests"' I, at this point, am undecided whether to continue looking for a new home, or to consider KV and just hope that I won't have much dealings with the management/maintainence staff.

This may be long, but very necessary and may be to your personal benefit. Please Read.

First of all, you should know that I have no axe to grind. I'm just reporting something I personally saw while on an apartment-hunting Saturday with a girlfriend who is looking for her new apartment home.

You go to the complex and you're asked "what is important to you in finding you new apartment home." You tell them things like location, space, and the absence of pests, i.e., bugs, rodents. Well, I went along with my girlfriend while she viewed various properties, trying to find just that one right place (for her) to live.

She had been ranting and raving about THIS property and wanted me to see just how beautiful, how peaceful, and clean it was, having been told that there were no kind of pest (roaches and/or mice) problem on the property.

Well, that's what she was told, but what did we see on the patio of a ground floor apartment as we entered the leasing center building ... a cat with a live mouse, wiggling in his clenched teeth. My girlfriend was mortified. You see, she's terrified of the little buggers. She couldn't believe her eyes. The management had told her if she rented at CP she would not have to worry about mice, because they had none. A BLATANT, BALD FACE LIE.

And what makes it worse ... after seeing that, she ran into the leasing office to tell the woman there (thinking she was telling them something they didn't know, but needed to know ... trying to be helpful ... so they could do something) and all the woman said was that "Oh, that ... a cat with a mouse in his mouth ... Oh, then he's doing his job. I thought something was wrong. It's not a problem, he's doing his job." She didn't appear surprised and showed no real concern at all, and just went back to her chit-chatting with some other woman in the office while she played with her little dog ... which by the way, she told us to "pretend we didn't see."

Also, as we left, and as my girlfriend was still trying to defend her thought to rent from CP, I saw (she didn't) yet another mouse running/playing in the bushes in front of the same patio. That 2 mice in the matter of a hour.

It's ridiculous and unacceptable that people (management) should feel it fine to offer such pest infested living facilities at such high rents. A person should not have to deal with roaches and/or mice regardless of how much or how little they pay for rent.

These things are nasty and present unhealthy living conditions and management should be held accountable. The monies people pay for rent should at least in part be used to provide residents with a higher level living experience and not just to line the pockets of those who are successful in tricking the unsuspected into a year s contract, a.k.a lease. The sad thing is that management does this knowing full well that if the resident should feel to break their lease, it will be most detrimental to the resident.

I hope I can get my girlfriend to change her mind about CP. And maybe you should too.

Wow, as I read your review, I could feel your dispair. I remember once, a few year ago -- just around the time that they put in the Food Lion, considering to move to Dunfield. It was nice then. I don't remember, now what it was that caused me to move elsewhere (probably the proximity to work), but in any case, it has recently become necessary for me to relocate and I was again considering to move to Dunfield ... now I'm wondering ... I feel what you're saying, but after my most recent experiences with trying to find just the right place, right now my greatest concern is that I'm not greeted with unwelcomed "pets" or really, should I say, PESTS, i.e., roaches, mice, etc.
