I thought this was a quiet community when I moved here a couple of months ago, I soon found out it is the total opposite! The children stand in the middle of the street and will not move when a car is approaching. I have constantly had to pick up trash that the kids leave on the ground after departing from there late night huddles. I thought the community was diverse; it is now seemingly attracting people from the inner city only. The people who used to live here and had respect for their community are moving rapidly. I wonder if they are accepting Section 8 applicants.

What makes you think people who have a section 8 voucher are bad? I working in the housing industy for 11 years and 90% of those on "section 8" now called HAP (housing assistance program) are either disabled, disabled veterans, or retired. People with very low income who need housing assistance have to go through a very vigourous process to be helped and are screen carefully. I doubt those are the ones causing trouble. Instead it probably just young kids and familes who dont care. However, I did live at this property many, many years ago and am sad to hear it is go downhill.

I must agree about the teens standing in the street, acting as if you OWE them something when you drive by. My daughters live in this Neighborhood, and recently moved here, it seems like a nice place to live overall, but the teenagers are out of control, and need someone to set some rules. Ive riden down the street, when Ive had to wait for a group, NO Less then 20, before I could procede down the street. IF they want to live this way, Maybe they should go to the inner city, because out here in the county, WE DONT act this way. At least my Children dont. Their Mothers will be the 1st ones suing if they get hit too, where do you think they get the attitude? And to the person who WORKING in the Industry for 11 years, I also have worked in the Industry, on the other side, In Leasing , and Yes, The people who receive Section 8, are the ones who disrespect the Units, the neighborhood, and cause trouble for the communities. The Children arent the ones Interviewed by Section 8, its the Parents. The Children believe that since their parents Dont own it, they dont have to respect it, someone will come behind them, and fix it, or clean it up, its the ATTITUDE. I see it EVERYTIME I visit my daughters which is EVERYDAY! They should stop trying to intimidate the neighbors, and learn some respect. Its a shame they dont have a program, or something for the children to do, to keep them off of the streets, and keep them from breaking in to the houses, and cars, or running up the hill, and stealing from the shopping center. IF Dunfield is accepting Section 8, Its only because, Dunfield can JACKUP the price, and know that SECTION 8, will have GUARENTEED payment. WHAT FOOL wouldnt accept it? Id love to see things change in this neighborhood, because those people who actually have to work, to pay their bills, are tired of the Ignorance. IF you have a teenager, and live in Dunfield, BE RESPONSIBLE, and KNOW WHAT YOUR KID IS OUT THERE DOING!!! THIS WILL MAKE A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL TO LIVE!!!

Well said. I myself have nothing against people on public assistance. There are people out here who really are trying, but need help for whatever reason. It could be any one of us. Unfortunately it seems that too many times people on section 8 are so trifling, and really don't care about the property or having respect for themselves and other people, and it shows in their kids. I get so sick and tired of living around people like this, who trash the development, and apparently don't supervise or discipline their children, or teach them about something we were once taught growing up called 'Respect'. What is going on? That is why now I will NOT move into a community that accepts section 8 vouchers, or 'HAP' anymore. Big difference. Sorry.

Absolutely TRUE!!! Those kids need to have some home training. If they do get help from the "HAP" they should learn how to humble themselves, since they do not pay ---- in rent like some of us who pay $1,300.00 a Month!!!!! Stop F***ing up the Neighborhood!

Ah...lived here 8 years, recently moved. My husband asked a group of about 8 kids to stop sitting on our new car we were told what are you going to do about it?? When I went in to call the police, they threw a full can of soda at our window. Then brought there "cousin" over to harrass us..When the police arrived, they told the police we were harrassing them and calling them racial names??? Um...all but one didnt even live in the community. We have a family of little kids so decided that is was high time to move. Not sure if they accept the Sct 8 but the people are trashy...sitting on there porches all night drinking. I lived on Aven so I saw alot of things this is the biggest circle in the community. Kids run free all day, had a 4 year old knock on my door at 9:30pm and ask if my child could come out and play? A kindergardner who couldnt go home until his mom got home at 8pm at night...he was sitting outside for several days before I knew he had no wheres to go. (very typical of this commnunity..I know its not normal) Ive had my car window shot out..along with alot of other residents. tires flattened. things stolen from my car. Kids roaming around, window screeens cut and things stolen from the window ledge. Slidding door cut open and things stolen. No parents are ever seen! Kids simply roam. Now on to the apartment it self. We had a end unit that was endlessly moldy...all of the apartments have mold..being there for so long, I watch them dig them up each time a new tennent moves in some times they even redo the walls and floors..but not often. Our apartment had mold growing up the 3 bedroom walls, the entire liveing room wall by the door and the wall seperating the the bathroom and 2nd bedroom. Ive been in alot of these apartments and they usually correct this by spraying a bleach solution on the walls and comming back a few weeks later and painting. Ummm we had mildew growing in the carpet behind our furniture. Its a nightmere repairs are terrible takes weeks sometimes, and sometimes they "forget" to come back and finish there work. They are cheap and if you are not planning a long term rental and dont have kids and are never home..then its the place for you.

I am so glad that I reviewed these responses and complaints. I was just approved to move in and now I am scared to death. I have a 19yr old, but I have a respectful and layed back 19yr old, who I would not want exposed to this foolishness or put in a position to get into trouble for hurting one of these kids for disrespecting his mother or stealing or damaging our cars. I do not like children anymore, so therefore, I absolutely do not want to live around a group of 20 or more hanging out doing nothing! I am afraid of the responses about the mold and mice....unacceptable for the money that they are asking for!! I think I may pass on Dunfield!
