Gallery Tower

Don't choose this place! My top reasons:

1. Horrendous construction. Things fall apart constantly. I could hear my neighbor's TV every single night when I went to sleep. The windows are paper-thin, which is bad in Baltimore. None of the plumbing works like it should. Don't let the attractive lobby fool you.

2. Management lies. As others have mentioned, parking is not an option, no matter what they tell you. They'll keep telling you that a spot is opening up, but it never does. Also, they apparently don't properly keep track of rent payments (this is a management-company problem), and then decide to try to evict you for no reason.

3. Security. It looks great, but random people get let in by the front-desk staff all the time.

4. Odors, crowds, and vermin yet to come. They're building a hamburger joint on the first floor. Sounds great -- unless you live in the building. You don't want to have to deal with the rats, smells, and crowds of people that this will bring.

5. The neighborhood. There's nothing around, except for sketchy people. Although Mt. Vernon can be great, that doesn't extend to this block.
