If you are considering a move to Goodnow Hill, Parkside Gardens, Franconia Gardens, or Gardenvillage, please reconsider.
While the quality of the apartments are not that great, it is less the quality of the apartments and the increasing crime in this part of the city that should make you seriously reconsider your move to ANY apartment complex in the 21206 zip code area.
Because of gentrification, the most violent section of town is now being bought and redeveloped, and the residents in that area are being pushed into 21206 (N.E. Baltimore). While all of the residents are not criminals, just poor people, a great number of people moving into this area are. Just last night a man was held at gun point and robbed in his apartment building. Every night for the past two months I've heard gun shots nearby, a neighbor had his car set on fire, and random people just seem to lurk around the buildings with no particular place to be, and the police are extremely slow to responding to any call (go figure...).
ALL students in the Baltimore area - reconsider your move to this area! Parents, do not allow your children to move into this area. Morgan State University students are prime targets especially. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!!
I've lived here for two years now, and I cannot stand to be here another minute. I'm not only not renewing my lease, I'm terminating it early. I could careless about a penalty.
