highly recommended place. The apts. are spacious, modern-looking, the common areas are clean, small weight room is included w/rent, staff are very courteous and eager to help, and open to suggestions. Community activities with free food/mingling opportunities a few times a year are nice. Many of my friends live in other buildings and remark at the spacious rooms here, which have huge picture windows with great views of the city in some. Utilities, water, etc. are included which makes things simpler. Lobby/patio are very nice - you can sign out the grill for bbqs. never any major problems with appliances in my year here, and the minor issues were fixed quickly by staff. The building is quiet. There is a lot to do within walking distance like restaurants, bars, shops in Mt. Vernon and the surroundings are not bad. A 7-11 is underneath the building next door, but connected inside...same goes for a pharmacy and barber shop. Not a luxury-type place but comfortable. Rent is cheaper than at most of the nice apt. buildings in the city area. Most ppl with cars buy monthly parking spots for about $130/mo around the blocks to avoid hassles looking for spots. It's pretty safe...just don't leave valuables visible in the car. one laundry unit per floor...usually don't have to wait. One usually only sees the negative reviewers on these sites but everyone I know here likes it.
