It will spoil you

I lived at the Ivymount Apartments for 3 years and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to live in the safe and beautiful neighborhood of Mt. Washington. My former roommate who got married liked it so much she moved in next door.

The *full-sized* washer/dryer are in a pantry room which is big enough to move around in and store laundry stuff plus a couple of shelves-worth of food. The room is open by vents to the outside but the door between it and the kitchen keeps the cold/heat/mugginess out!

We had a couple of problems with our A/C which were fixed within a reasonable time frame; the maintenance staff is friendly and responsive. Management is gradually remodeling the kitchens of all apartments so some are more expensive because of this. Apartment prices also vary according to the view. Ours was a top floor (out of 3 floors) apartment with a view of the woods in the back. I felt like I was living in a tree house!!

The walls between rooms are not that sound-proof which I found annoying at first...I got over it.

There is a nice tennis court and a swimming pool which I used on occasion. The whole complex is surrounded by trees and lush greenery which gives it a secluded feel. It was typical to hear owls hooting and to see rabbits and squirrels and the occasional fox.

It is expensive and the only reason I could afford it is because I split the rent 3 ways with 2 other roommates. It is not that much cheaper per person to have a 3 BR, which I thought was chintzy on their part.

All utilities are covered except for electricity and phone. Our BGE (Baltimore Gas & Electric) bill came to about $35-80 (typically on the lower end) depending on how hot the summers were. The stoves/dryers/heating are all gas so you don't pay for that.

What else can I say' I am forever spoiled.
