Beautiful Setting, Exceptional Value, Excellent Maintenance, Management Could Use Some Work...

Ivymount is one of the most beautiful apartment complexes you can find in the Baltimore area. I would argue the best value and the most beautiful property in the Mt. Washngton area. You can be assured that you will have a washer and drier in the apartment, spacious rooms, and gas heat included. The property faces Western Run Park, which promises a view of a stream and wildlife you would normally expect to find only in a country setting. In a rear facing apartment, the view you see from your 24' deck includes deer, owls, hawks, foxes, rabbits, wild songbirds, and the lovely woods and a babbling stream. The apartment is very spacious, has a modern and routinely updated kitchen and bath, and regularly updated features such as crown molding, new appliances and carpet, and a generous storage space. Parking is great, and we have always felt safe and secure here. Problems are extremely rare, and the police respond immediately to any minor issue. Your neighbors are probably doctors, professionals, retirees, and medical students, many long term residents and generally lovely people. The setting is quieter than most, with a lovely pool and tennis courts, and plans for some major upgrades in the coming months. The maintenance staff, all of whom have been with Ivymount for more than 10 years, are honest, prompt, and compassionate. They are sometimes stretched, but always helpful. The office manager is another story. She can be a "she -----" if you cross her, and she is totally focused on her company's bottom line. She also makes most of the esthetic decisions, and her taste is somewhat questionable (i.e. recently, HIDEOUS paint changes and carpet in our entranceways that looks like someone vomited). The landscaping and grounds could use a lot of work. The property manager will cut down a tree instead of getting it pruned, and the landscape company she hired was probably the lowest bidder, AND IT SHOWS. They routinely butcher the plants on the property, and no effort is made to plant flowers, or otherwise spruce up the landscaping other than the area right next to the rental office. On the positive side, the office makes sure that the residents here are of the highest caliber. They keep out the "riff-raf" and ensure that you will not have any crime or unpleasantness commited by residents. Screening is thorough, and situations are quickly dealt with. Overall, this is a lovely place to live, and despite minor issues with the office manager, we would recommend it!

I would say this is someone in the office that does not like their manager. You do an excellent job painting a picture with words-just like most good little leasing consultants. Folks, when you are reading these reviews watch out for people using phrases like "exceptional value" or "country setting" or that knows the maintenance staff has been their for 10 years.
