living in jamestown was more than nightmare for me.
the first night my boyfriend and i moved in we had huge (and i mean HUGE) bugs. we discovered them because our yorkie wouldnt come to bed.. she was watching them crawling around the kitchen floor. we also had a flea problem with my dog which had never happened before. there were so many cats in the neighborhood. there was one cat that always tried to follow me into my place -____-;; i'm allergic to cats.
few days after we moved in we noticed our bag of dog food had been eaten right through the bag by mice. and droppings all over the kitchen and closet. nothing we tried for 8 solved the mice problem. just kept getting worse. towards the end of my lease we (including my dog) couldnt sleep from the sound of the mice.
the ppl upstairs ran on a very odd schedule.. blasting music till about 4AM then when it finally gets quiet u can hear someone dicing away at about 5:30AM.
water.. omg.. we had water everywhere we had water coming up from the floor outside our bathroom door that took almost 3months for the maintenance to fix. it smelled like we were living in a sewer. we had rain leaking in through the window every time it rained. and then to top it off.. my boyfriend came home one day to find it raining in our apartment when it was dry outside. some kind of huge pipe upstairs had broke and it took maintenence 2 days to get everything fixed.. promised they would change out the drywall,etcetc, never happened. so it just kept smelling more and more like a sewer.
my car was towed from the parking lot directly in front of my apt.
i had to walk up a hill and down some stairs into a shady laundry area that was only open at designated hours to do my laundry so i opted to a commercial laundromat.
finally about 8 months into the lease we couldnt handle it. we moved out.. i took all the clothes to a laundromat. and threw out almost all our furniture, etc. i had to even throw out my bed frame because the bottom was rotten from being wet for so long. i threw out the vacuum cuz i was afraid the fleas may follow. i dont even like driving by there now.
to top it off.. they are sending me letters till this day to pay 200 some bucks for damages done to the apt. ( i did nothing to damage that apt. it was the freakin water and mice!)
DO NOT MOVE TO JAMESTOWN! they need to bulldozer that complex all together!
