I've lived here for about a year with my fiance, and it's really been one problem after another. If you mail the rent and they somehow don't get it, prepare for an eviction notice/court summonse to be mailed to you, left in an envelope at your door AND taped to the mailbox (but I guess that's any apartment.)
The air conditioner broke, and the guy who they sent to fix it had an open cut and bled on our ceiling when he was fooling with the vent. The stain is still there. The door to the furnace, which is located on the balcony, kept blowing open (it's dry-rotted and the lock is broken,) resulting in the pilot on the furnace being extinguished by the wind-- we called a bunch of times and maintainance would just re-light the pilot without fixing the door. After the third time (every time, the person fixing the furnace would acknowledge the broken door was the root of the problem,) I just nailed the damned door shut-- no more furnace problems.
Parking absolutely sucks-- we see all sorts of odd cars from other states parked in the lot, which wouldn't bother me except we were asked to register our cars with the office when we signed the lease (for what reason' I ask you.) A lot of the time, one of us has to park on the street.
The closet reeks of some sort of rotten flesh. It's either 1) old cat food from the previous tenant's pet, 2) rotten shrimp the previous tenant hid somewhere inside the wall as a joke or 3) a dead rat inside the wall. Either way, we put so many air fresheners in there that it looks like that scene from "Seven" (you know which one.)

. . . and now, they charge for water, but not by individual unit (they average the usage of each building and divide that by the number of units per building.) Lately, the water has been coming out of the faucet in odd spurts now and then, which just makes me a little upset.

When you rent you're getting screwed one way or another. I just wish the people at Kenilworth weren't so aware of this fact that they take full advantage of it.

I guess that's it. I can't wait to buy a house.
