paint chips, mold, cold, retarded management ad nauseam

I read the other comments and can definitely relate to a few, but I have to say luckily, I never saw any mice.
Do they still make you sign that waiver in the lease about the asbestos'
I agree with the maintenance staff looking like drug addicts/homeless men. I recall the mysterious mold in the bathroom and closets near the bathroom (so watch your clothes and linens) that would never go away.
Another issue with the bathroom (and also the kitchen) was that the water would sometimes come out rusty from the faucet. The apartments always smelled like there was a gas leak somewhere, and what everyone says about the cold temperatures in the winter is correct.
The ceilings looked like they had some water damage in my unit, and were cracked. Maintenance was called, but never did anything about it. Probably too high to remember.
I recall all the stupid rules that they'd come up with from time to time, and if I'm not mistaken, they even started this thing with a "security patrol" person while I was living there, who actually looked more like a Dungeons & Dragons role-player/trenchcoat mafia member.
For some unusual reason, there were always U-Hauls and other types of vehicles parked on the lawn area between buildings.
Right before I moved, the people who moved in across the hall from me seemed to be running some kind of group home out of the apartment, so you can imagine the noise I endured from all the wild kids running all over.
If you've read the other comments, it's easy to understand why I rarely used the laundry facilities there. You'll have better luck elsewhere.
I also think it's pretty whack that the new management team has no record of rental history on anyone who lived there prior to them taking control, which causes alot of hassle when you're shopping for a new place to live.
Don't get me wrong, for it being my first apartment, for the price I paid ($425/mo), and the convenience of being so close to TU, it wasn't so bad. The kitchen was huge, but had one teeny-tiny sliver of counter space. It was also nice to have so many stores (Giant, Superfresh, Target, Towson Town Center), a library, and 695 so close by.
So, if you're willing to stand cold temperatures in winter, paint chippings, moldy closets and bathroom walls among an abundance of other negative features, Loch Raven Village Apartments is the place for you.
