Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008

LOCATION: We have lived in Redwood Square since August 2006, and are leaving in June 2008 because we are moving out of state. We have, overall, had a good experience living in this complex. Our apartment faces Redwood St, which is a quaint one-way street off of some larger, main streets. Across the street is the Marlboro Classic building and the University of Maryland Medical Center. The street itself is calm and quiet, but there is a fire station onr block south on Eutaw Street. Fire truck sirens are heard during the days, but we have noticed that they tend to die off in the evening and on weekends. We are 1/2 mile from the Inner Harbor, and if you like to walk, you can walk to Harbor East and Little Italy as well (1.5 miles). It's also easy to walk up Charles Street to the monument (1 mile) or to Federal Hill (1 mile). We do drive or take a cab when we go out in the evening, however.

APARTMENT: The aparatment itself is very spacious with HUGE windows and high ceilings in most places. It is a traditional loft, so the center portion of the apartment has a lower ceiling to account for the upstairs loft. The ceiling in the loft is low (6.5 feet), so if you're tall, this will be a tough place to live. The kitchen is large, but lacks ample counter space. If you wanted to add a breakfast bar (permanent or temporary) it would add a lot to the kitchen. There is not much storage, and we keep some boxes in a corner of the apartment. There is a laundry facility on each floor, and they are controlled with a "debit" card, which is convenient. The entrance is card-controlled, and I feel as though it is fairly secure.

PARKING: We park our car in the lot next door (which is not gated, but is staffed most hours of the day). It is not the safest place to park, but we don't have the nicest car, either. The parking guys are great as long as you treat them well in return. They keep a set of keys so that they can move the car around as needed - they fill the lot to its max during sporting and theater events. We pay $110 a month to park. Could be better - not too bad.

STAFF: We have had a wonderful experience with the maintenance staff! They are quick and responsive, as well as kind. The office staff has not given us any problems either.
