The new management is horrible...
There only aim is to slime out money out of the residents. They dont have centralized heating or cooling and instead have installed highly inefficient heating/cooling units in the windows. As a result electricty bill for a 2 bed room runs over $150-$200.
The management sucks... many better apartments for cheaper (after u consider horrendous utility costs in thsi buoding) around this area...
Look for broadview or carlyle... MUUUCH better and comparable price.

I totally agree. That's my 5th year at the Marylander and this building was great even if it is old. Now, for an efficiency, I am paying $90 for heat and I am freezing cold!!! The changes are awful: the new color of the hallways is so depressing (kind of yellow brown, more brown than yellow). I started to have cockroaches and had to wait 5 days before the pest control !!! That's the first time it happened. The "refreshing" or I should say the "oldesting" of the hallways provoked a lot of dust (my apartment has white dust everywhere). It was not clean. The basement color: white and goose ---- (that is what describe the best this kind of brown). Prices are increasing all the time ($40/month each year, laundry, heat to pay now) but we see no usefull improvement (or maybe to put the name of the building on two of his sides and remove all the beautiful trees is an improvement?). Look for Whitman Park apartment or Carlyle, better...

Just to let you know, the people that own The Marylander now also own The Carlyle.

I think that the owners are an organization that seem to operate much like a religious cult.
