What! I guess the complex must have changed drastically since I was there in 1999. Am I that old' At any rate, back then the rent was extremely cheap and the apartment was populated with mostly UMBC students and their families. You could not BEAT the rent, and they offer MONTH-TO-MONTH leases! None of the other complexes in the area could even come close.

Giant supermarket is also one block away. The food and selection are great and they're open 24 hours a day. We never had any mice or roaches (at least not more than I have had in any other apartments that cost WAY more) and the heat always worked fine.

If the rent is still as LOW as it was when we lived there, I would recommend using the money you re saving to buy a space heater, get some insulated curtains and window insulation to make up for the lack of sufficient heat. Back then we had curtains, and we were always warm in the wintertime.

I live in a relatively expensive complex now, but there has been a rape nearby, AND someone broke into my husband's car! Safety can be an issue not matter where you live. If you're worried about safety you can buy a security system from Amazon or someplace. You can take it with you, and as I said before the rent there is so cheap, you will definitely be able to afford it.

Also, you can take the system with you. My favorite thing about Meadowlane is that it was close to school, close to a great supermarket (GOD I miss Giant. Can you say Open 24 Hours' Can you say Great Selection') and close to I-95 .

If you hate the place, you can leave, because your lease is MONTH-TO-MONTH.
