I went and toured these apartments in my quest to find a reasonably priced 1 bedroom in a safe area, within close proximity to my college. As a graduate student searching for my first apartment, I was not expecting (nor was I financially able) to rent the Taj Mahal. However, my experience was so terrible, I almost was tempted to rub hand sanitizer over the bottom of my flip-flops after I left. Upon arriving at the apartment for my tour, I was informed that the previous tenant had had a dog that had urinated all over the apartment, and that the floors had been ripped up to remove the odor. She then proceeded to lead me to the back yard to an underground entrance to the apartment. Upon entering the poorly lit and ill ventilated apartment, I was overcome with the stench of dog urine. The apartment had only one window, in the bedroom, and it failed to provide any comfort or beauty to the shabby and outdated apartment. The bathroom was covered in ants and the kitchen had a giant can of roach spray on the counter. Upon entering the living/dining area I looked in the corner and found what looked like a two-by-four attached to a lead pipe with a metal spring. Upon inquiry I was informed that they had "a bit" of a mouse problem... this make-shift trap could have taken out a rat, or perhaps a small dog. I left the apartment as quickly and disgustedly as possible. The leasing agent was entirety unprofessional, and out of her mind if she thinks anyone would consider living in those conditions.
