I lived in QAB for close to 4 years and recently moved out. It was mediocre at best while I lived there. The apartments have 4 walls, a ceiling and cheap carpet, but it is an apartment. The problem that I have with QAB is leaving. When I moved out of the apartment I asked for a walk through to ensure I got all of my security deposit back. After practically begging the staff for an appointment, I finally had a walk through and was told I would get all my money back.

I waited patiently for the statutory period to run (45 days, for those who are interested) and still no money. I sent a certified letter telling them to pay up or go to court. After 2 phone calls the following week, I got the check. I took it to my bank and deposited it. 5 days later it bounced. Thus began the saga of the security deposit.

The first issue was actually speaking to someone in the accounting office. No one every answers the phone. After numerous voicemails, I sent an additional certified letter from my attorney demanding the money back. The money arrived, again in check form. I walked across the street to the new suntrust bank and tried to cash the check instead of depositing it. I was told by suntrust there wasn't enough money in the account to cover the check.

Again, I sent a letter. By now QAB was violating about 4 Maryland laws (bouncing a check, failure to pay a security deposit w/in stat period, failure to hold an escrow account for sec deposits and failure to have enough money in the escrow account to cover all outstanding security deposits.)

Long story short, I just got my money...4 months late. This is a shady building run by shady management. I would spend my money elsewhere if I were you.
