Not All Good and Not All Bad

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004
I lived here from 2001-2002. My apartment was a decent size and had nice touches like an updated kitchen and bathroom, hardwood floors and ample closet space. Another perk was that it was within walking distance of the Metro and shops.
The positive attributes stop there. Whenever it rained my apartment became infested with roaches. The grounds were very dark at night. There were possees of young males roaming the grounds at night, making noise, smoking dope and harassing anything in a skirt. The noise level outside of my apartment was RIDICULOUS. Also, residents kept tearing down the fence that separated the complex from the plaza. I did not feel the slightest bit safe here and did not leave my apartment after dark if at all possible.
I never had any issues with maintenace but management was HORRIBLE. When I moved out, I had to threaten to sue them in order to get back my security deposit, despite the fact that I left my apartment in pristeen condition. They kept saying that the check was in the mail and it never came until I threatened a suit.
The bottom-line, if you are on a budget and need to take the metro to work/school, this place will work until you get into a better situation. Otherwise, don't bother.
