Where do I start....
The begining, moving in I was told I would be paying a set amount for rent and I would be getting FREE HEAT(gas). After receiving my first bill, I found out I was paying a portion of the heat for the entire building. Not to mention water, sewage and trash removal. The funny thing is the trash removal is about $5, and you only get that small can, that you see placed across from the apartments. When that can is emptied it becomes full again before the day is over. And if its a weekend its usually over flowing with trash, which becomes an eye sore. The property only looks decent during the beginning of the week, I guess when they are trying to impress potential tenants. The swimming pool area looks a little shabby as well. During the summers its full of rowdy, foul mouthed teens who,if I must say my self are very frisky. There is supervision. However she's a teen herself and most times partakes in the festivities. Before you rent be sure to check out the cleanliness of the buildings hall ways. The building that the leasing office is in clean, of course. But you should walk into some of the other building to see what they look like.
Enter the leasing office.... When I first rented, there was a really friendly lady by the name of Sh@!*n.. She was great, but then she left. Her replacement,... lets just say, after Sh@'!n left dealing with that office became a nightmare. Everyone there needs to take Customer Service 100 the pre-requisite to 101 and maybe Perfessionalism 100 as well. Maintenance was fair. I only had one major issue and I'll get into that later.
The Apartment...The unit wasn't really that bad, I think. I had AC in the summer. Heat.... Heat..uhh. Lets skip that. The paint job wasn't the best. Bugs, you'll learn to love them, as they come in as they see fit... Especially spiders!!:) Mice.....There came a point where I was calling maintenance daily to remove a mouse. Some how they were coming in through the little mystery room that houses the AC unit. And I don't mean just one at a time. The Exterminator found at once maybe 5(FIVE) in there dead on the snap strap. Imagine resting in you bed then...SNAP..SQUEEEEEK.. SQUEEEEEK..I believe that was the most spun song in my apartment, during those trying times.. The exterminators are a big joke.. They come in spray the air... Leave a note saying we've treated your apartment, then thats it.. For the Mice issue I was given snap traps...The carpetting was fair, you'll only have to wonder if it was being changed every 2years per MD State law. The on-site laundry facility... If your neighbors can keep it clean, comes in handy. The neighbors are very noisy. There should be a breed restrictions on the dogs that are allowed. As my neighbor has two of the biggest dogs I've ever seen, very friendly though, and they pounce around all night...
I don't think there is anything else to say about these apartments. Before You rent PLEASE,pay key attention to the unit you'll be living in for the year. Don't waste your time visiting the model ask to see some vacant units, or maybe even the unit you'll be living in. The model is VERY nice, but thats not what you'll be getting. Notice your surroundings, is the parking lot clean, look at the dumpsters, ask for a tour of the property. In fact they should offer it, if they are proud of what they have to offer. Look into some of the other building's hallways, besides the leasing office. Don't be afraid to ask current residents, there thoughts and if they are happy... I wouldn't have made the mistake of moving here knowing what I know now. This has been a learning experience, one that will certainly hel me move on.....Other decent apartments in this area are: White Springs and Buzzuto Management has something on Franklin Square Blvd... if you can afford it I would say go there!!!!

Maintenance would come in and steal my stuff...the office would deny it saying they only came in units when there was a request placed. Well, one day I came home (and never replaced a request) and found a big wad of MASTER APARTMENT KEYS left on my kitchen counter. I walked to the office and they had an attitude and again denied this was possible until I threw the keys on the desk and walked out. At least stuff stopped vacating my apartment after that one.

I could not agree with you more! Once you are past due you receive threatening, ignorant notices to get out! Its scary and its not like other apartment complexes where you have perhaps a week after your court day-more like a day. This not the place to live if you need affordability-you never know how much your rent will be-it varies from $800 to $900 sometimes more. I gotta get out of here!

You poor folks, I used to live there and the key word is "used to". I lived there in 2003-05. When I first got there, my apartment building was great, it was clean, the neighbors were quiet and respectful. One of my neighbors had a dog but I wouldn't never known it, since they were so quiet. Then summer time came, boy did things change!! the folks on the second floor, below me, would put their trash on the patio and it would stink so bad that I couldn't open my doors, then in came the mice, seemed like millions of them, every other week they I was finding them in my bathtub, the linen closet, the kitchen sink, the closets, everywhere, I felt like I was in that old movie "Ben". Then there were the fights, then the family that moved from another country, how they would have parties and on the weekends step out on the patio and scream "i love America!!!". It was truly a mess after 2 years. When I moved, I cleaned my apartment, patched up the holes, vacumed the carpet and returned my key, gave my 60 day notice and moved on, Only to find out 5 months later, while checking my credit, that they were on it for failure to pay rent!!!, when I called them to ask about the problem, they stated "we never received the key back and you didn't give notice". Okay, now I'm pissed, I have a bill on my credit for 1200.00, I send the credit company my copy of the written notice as well as the signature from the management that shows I returned my key. They tell me I have to fight it out with the apartment complex. I fight and fight, and finally, they realize that they screwed up, send a payment in full notice to the credit company. Checked my credit about 2 weeks later, guess what's still on my credit, you guessed it Ross Ridge!, thank God I have it documented. Good luck folks.
