I've lived here for less than 3 months and I've already had two water leaks -- one in my closet. Here's what else I've learned:

- my bolt lock doesn't work -- and never has.
- they turn off the heat on the weekends/holidays and it gets COLD! (and I thought not paying my heat was such a steal!)
- the elevator never works. If it by some chance does, it probably won't let you off on the correct floor. The stairs aren't lit -- so you're stuck walking up curved stairwells in the dark ?? or you begin carrying a flashlight, like me.
- the washers don't work. But you can dry your dirty clothes.
- the lead paint they promised was sealed is already chipping away.

Don't be fooled by the great location! The area may be great but this building isn't and the management doesn't care. In fact, the management company used to be on the first floor -- but they moved to a building they don't own (translation: they increased costs and now pay for office space -- if that doesn't say anything about this building, I don't know what does!)

Needless to say, I won't be renewing and am thanking my lucky stars I only signed a 6 month lease!

I've lived at the Severn for 3 years and I have to say, that I LOVE my apartment, and the area is great...I'm close to festivals, especially my favorite, Flower Mart....Yes the building is old, but that's why I love it, it has so much character. I did not have any leaking issues or paint chipping issues either, but Lisa the property manager is very attentive and gets things done immediately.
