Pool on the roof and in the Garage !!!

Years at this apartment: 1996 - 1997
I lived here as a student at Hopkins in 1996-1997 and had numerous problems with maintenance and rodents. However, most importantly - my roommate and I both had cars that were flooded when the lower level of the garage filled with water. It had been raining pretty hard for a few hours and apparently the water was backing up into the garage from the street behind. When my roommate and I went down to the garage at 10:00 PM we were confronted with what looked like a river coming into the garage and cars that were floating in water up to the door handles. Another resident reported that he had notified the management at 9:00 that there had been some water coming in and was reassured that the problem was being handled - however an hour later he was one of us down there trying to float our cars out of the garage. To give everyone a sense of managements response to this issue - someone finally knocked on the apartment door at 11:15 to notify us that the garage had flooded. Needless to say, our cars were a complete loss and management did not show even an ounce of sympathy. And to make matters worse, after replacing my car and parking it in the garage once again (they kept promising to move my parking spot up a level, but it took over a month) I was awoken to someone pounding on my door at 6:00 in the morning wearing hip waders reporting that there was water in the garage again. Thankfully it really was only an inch or so that time, but the panic attack it brought to me was traumatic to say the least. There was also some mention that the garage had flooded in the past, so I would be very cautious abour parking in the lower level garage unless you'd like a new boat.
In addition to the flood problem, we also experienced the problems reported by others including roaches and mice. We also had pipes leaking and returned from spring break to find a hole punched in the wall that took over a month to fix (they were still trying to figure out where the leaks were coming from).
We moved out at the end of the lease, as did many other students that year that were "encouraged" to move out to make way for the hotel rooms. Although the apartment was spacious and convenient to campus, I would not recommend it.
