Warning: DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. The management company appears to change every 4 months or so. The owners, BPG Properties, are slumlords. They own several old buildings around Mt. Vernon and some in Bolton Hill as well. The easy clue are the front doors which have all been painted a bright red. Our apartment had severely high levels of lead (10x the legal limit in the living area and even higher in the bedroom). Additionally, the maintenance crew is utterly incompetent. They ruined our bathroom! The hallways are always filty with wires exposed, the laundry room smelled horrible, and the dumpster behind 1209 St. Paul was often left completely full for days at a time at the height of summer!! We were treated poorly by the managedment at the time, even yelled at. We were told by that particular management company that the owners owed them money and refused to pay for any repairs. There was a leak in another building that was left there for months. It was simply a huge bucket collecting the dirty water. We spoke with many other tenants as we wanted to take legal action and they all had similar stories. In the end, we stayed there for 4 horrible months but were fully refunded all of our money when we threatened legal action. Apparently their plate is overflowing with legal issues and they didn't want another one. Do not be fooled by the management company change, many times it's the same people with a new name so you will receieve the same poor service. STAY AWAY!
