What attracted me here was the location, close proximity to Columbia and Baltimore, easy access to 695, I95 & Rt. 29. I read the previous reviews, did evening/weekend drivebys before signing the lease, also it's a good idea to check out the building you will be living in before signing the dotted line. Personally I listen for loud stereos (eves./wkdnds), pungent hallway odors, dirty halls in disrepair, other residents windows (this can tell you a lot about the people living near you). My building passed the test pretty much except for; unfinished drywall repairs on the ceiling outside my apartment. The balconies leave a little to be desired too. My opinion on this is that if you go out of your way to do renovations don't leave out important details like worn out balconies (railings that seem to low on upper floors to be safe) unfinished trim on the "French" doors and mailboxes that look like they have withstood countless previous break-ins. The interior was move in ready; cleaned carpets, fresh paint, etc. My entrance door is equipped with 4 locks in addition to the furnished alarm so I make of point of using these precautions (because they're there for a reason). Things I DO LIKE about this property (and other formerly Town & Country apts.) is the 1 bedroom layouts. The 2 walk-in closets are awesome and the area in between the 2 doors was thoughtfully designed leaving you room for a dresser. (You don't lose a bedroom wall to closet space). The bathroom is nice with it's updated mirrors & lighting, functional tub surround. The living room is spacious and the dining area is adequate. The kitchen is lacking storage space and only 1 small drawer but the built-in microwaves help free up much needed counter space. Finally the grounds are landscaped and kept free of trash daily, the outside trash bins are emptied regularly. About maintenance: most concerns were addressed in a timely manner. Parking has not been a problem. The lots are well lit and have not heard any loud music or rowdiness, in fact it's really quiet. UPDATE! Maybe I was being too premature with PRAISE! My apartment has MICE! After scouring reviews to make sure I did not see the word mice (or roaches) describing Tuscany Gardens this new revelation is disheartening. Within a month I have called maintenance about this problem 3 times!! Oh and allow me to preface the fact that my apartment is immaculate, never leave dishes or food out on the counters. Floors swepted & wiped regularly and no clutter. Several maintenance and pest control persons have been here plugging holes and laying down so called "poison". Please view the picture of the "poison", it's more like a snack! I personally have a zero tolerance for mice, so I have to change my review to DON'T MOVE HERE unless you don't mind cleaning rodent droppings off your kitchen counters before having breakfast! UGH!
