DO NOT LIVE HERE! I lived there for a year and a half, finally got up the money to pay the lease penalty to get out of there! It was absolutely horrible! We looked at the house we were getting ahead of time, and it's odd how things didn't start happening until after we had looked at it. About a week after we moved in, the ceiling in our bedroom started leaking, over our bed. We called and they said they'd come to fix it. About 3 days later, after having to sleep in the living room, since we had to keep a bucket on the bed, they showed up. We kept showing the guy the problem, but all he could stare at was our stereo by the bed. We think he was high or something, anyway, a few days later they came by to fix it, while I wasn't there, entered without my permission, which by the way, if you must live there, you can tell them you require that you're there for everything as do, as you should be, anyway, so they came by and when I came home, stereo was gone. Suprised' Not even the worst, 2 days later, it poured. The leak opened up again, and we figured out why. All they did was put masking tape over it and paint over the tape. You could see the tape once it started leaking again. This is how they patch everything, there was a hole in our bathroom door when we moved in that we missed when we did our walkthrough, and they taped it and painted it. Crazy! So after calling and complaining for seriously about 3 months, they repaired the roof, which was the cause of the problem. So we lived with water pouring into our bedroom for 3 months... we had a freaking skylight! Only later did we learn, and you should take advantage of this if you ever have to use it, that if you threaten to have your rent put in escrow, which is where the county or state holds your money until the repairs are completed, anyway, if you threaten to do this, they fix things. Also, this whole time, having lived there for about 3 months or so, the neighbor was terrible. I honestly think she was hooker. She had 3 kids, in a 2 bedroom townhouse, and everynight would bring home another guy and they would do their thing so loud, we couldn t even sleep. She had a headboard, I don t think you need a better picture. She also would park completely sideways and take up 2 and sometimes 3 parking spots, and it s not like she had a bmw, she had a jeep! I complained about noise non-stop, but the leasing office said since it was after their hours, they couldn t do anything, they said I needed to call the police. I was afraid to do so, since she had different guys there all the time, who knows what kinda of drug addicts, dealers or murderers they were. So we just kept complaing. I also took photos on multiple occasions of her parking the way she did and sent them to the leasing office, who did nothing. So by fianc e and I started looking into buying a home, but decided we needed to work on our credit to get a decent interest rate. Well by the time we did all that, we ended up having to sign another year lease, with no where else we could afford, we had no choice. Later, I started noticing, when I came home, things weren t the way we left them, the tv would be on different channels, things moved around, honest to God food missing. When I called the leasing office, they didn t seem to care. Things started going missing, a necklace my fianc e got me for valentines day, some of his nicer jeans, things like that. I was getting very irritated. One morning I had to leave a little late for work, well the dumb maintenance people didn t realize it was my car parked out front, and actually entered the home while I was upstairs getting ready. I stepped out of the bathroom, and they must have seen my feet and taken off. I ran down the steps and saw someone in a maintenance uniform, running toward to maintenance office. I finally called the leasing office again, and said that I was going to call channel 2 news and have them set up cameras in my home, and catch them doing what they were doing. After this, they changed my locks and put my key on a check out basis. Where if work needed to be done, they had to check the key out with management and we d know who was in there if anything went missing. A few weeks later I got my cable bill. They had been ordering adult movies on my tv and watching them on my sofa!! I soon replaced the sofa, not being able to even look at it, I was so disgusted. The leasing office said I couldn t prove it and hung up. This next one isn t really the company s fault, but it shows you how dangerous the neighborhood is. One morning I asked my fianc e to carry our clothes hamper to the car before he left for work, because I was going to do the laundry later. He accidentally left by back door in my car unlocked. When I came out to get in the car, I started it, then realized I forgot something, threw my purse on the passenger seat and ran inside. When I came back out there was a man sitting in my passenger seat going through my purse, he was shaking and looked drugged up. Lucky me, my knife was in my purse that he was holding (from then on I always carried it in my back pocket). I slowly walked over to the car and he said take me to owings mills. I said I m going to work, that s not on my way, get out of my car. He said well your neighbor told me you work in Towson, (which I did) and it s only a little further. I told him no, I m going to call the police, get out of my car. He kept arguing and finally said, well if you re not taking me I m taking your money. I said take whatever you want just get out of my car. He took like $15, said I ll pay you back and ran. Can we say crazy'' 2 days later he showed up on my doorstep, I m guessing to repay me. I was home alone and didn t answer. The next day, he came back and my fianc e was home. I told him not to answer as we didn t know what kind of drugs this guy was on. So he left. About a week later, he followed me the mailbox, I didn t see him coming but grabbed my knife as soon as I saw him. He said hi, I came to pay you back but you didn t answer. I said of course I didn t answer; do you have the money now' He said no, but I ll get it! I said don t worry about it, just leave me alone. He is apparently homeless and wanders all around there, all the time, as I saw him again and again. This shook me pretty bed and we started looking for a house, not worried about our credit, just about our safety. Then next couple months, we had gas leak after gas leak. I have a little yorkie, and just a little bit of gas in there while she s home during the day could do a lot of harm. They kept coming and fixing it, and yet everyday I d come home to the gas smell. Finally, they said they were going to replace the stove. The day they came to put a new one in I couldn t be there. They were also fixing the toilet in the bathroom, and the sink, so that morning I had done my make-up in the kitchen. That evening I cam home, and my house smelled like smoke. I looked on the counter, and there was my make-up bag, burned to bits, it was melted and everything inside it was ruined. Some of my pots and pans were ruined also. Apparently they started a fire, while replacing the stove and fixing the gas line, someone probably smoking. When I called and asked for them to pay, they said that s what you have renters insurance for. Which I didn t, didn t imagine anything like this would happen. I had to fight for them to give me $100 off the next months rent. The maintenance people always show up, what seem to be drunk. The ladies at the leasing office are nothing but rude. All I had to do was say my address when I called and they d get all huffy and puffy and start getting an attitude. A couple weeks later, brown water started leaking in our kitchen out of what appeared to be just a pipe sticking out of the wall. They said it was sealed, and that it must have been a fluke and shouldn t happen again. When we finally found our house, we gave our 30 days notice and I said if you just let us go, without paying a penalty, we ll go quietly and not tell the county everything that s happened and we don t get a lawyer. They refused and said we owed them 2 months rent. We talked with a lawyer and they advised we just pay it and be done with them, since we already know they fight dirty. We began packing and had a whole bunch of food boxed up on the floor in the kitchen, when one evening I came home to brown water all over the floor. When I called, they came and fixed it, but as usual always left a huge mess, they had moved the boxes into the living room, which was carpeted and got brown stuff al over the carpet. The left the water all over the floor, and everything just a mess. When I called to tell the leasing office they needed to pay for all of our lost food, they said, once again, your renters insurance will cover that. So, we packed up, and got out of there as fast as we could. 3 weeks later, in the mail at our new home, we got a bill from them saying we owed for all these things. Stained carpet, which was because of the boxes they put on the carpet, burned stove, which was from when they started the fire, messed up grass from the moving truck, much to their surprise, I didn t use a moving truck, I used a friends truck and minivans and they stayed on the street, not the grass. They charged us for all these hours of cleaning, because we didn t leave it in the condition we found it in, even though we did. They even tried to charge us for a new medicine cabinet, saying this one was rusty and that was our fault. I fought back and said, we were disgusted with the cabinet when we moved in so bought something to go under the sink instead so we didn t have to use it. We ended up paying a couple of the fees and fighting for some, but we just wanted to be done with them. There are so many more things that were terribly wrong with this place. The kids were awful. It seemed like they were told by their parents if you get hit by a car mommy will get lots of money, because they would almost dare you to hit them. They would just walk out in front of you and just stop in front of your car. They all had foul mouths. And how s this for a 5 year olds game' There were like 4 five year olds playing outside when we were outside grilling one day and we thought they were playing cops and robbers, cute right' Well they pretended to lock one of them up, and when he asked to be released the little kid said oh not you don t, you have to call your bail bondsman, like my daddy always does. Five year olds! Scary! Anyway, I hope this was helpful! Please don t waste your time with these people! They are terrible! I got out of there as soon as I could, and hope this helps save some people, pain and frustration.

Funny (well not funny) that you had all of these problems. I actually signed a lease on 3/1/08 for a townhouse and after going to look at it I was so disgusted by the pipes sticking out where they said a washer and dryer used to be and the horrible gas smell that I demanded my money back and void my lease. The rude lady in the rental office refused because they were closed. So I went back on that Saturday, she tried to refuse again, however when I threatened to call Baltimore County Inspectors she politely called who supervisor who said to give me back my money and void the lease. I am so happy I was able to do this. I'm sorry you had to live like that, hope you're happier now.

the name of the development (Whispering Woods) makes you think of a quiet peaceful environment.....this place should have been called the (Wild Kingdom in the Woods)......i'm glad that you & your fiance were able to purchase a home.....reading this was hilarious (because I could visualize it), they should be ashamed of how this place is managed.....since you expressed yourself you can help save potential tenants....YIKES! you are a true soldier! (forget the knife you needed to go postal on them)
